BMA serves marketing community

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Baltimore Marketing Association is a 24-year-old organization serving the Baltimore community. The organization has concentrated its efforts on advancing the careers of individuals in the marketing profession.

Annual membership dues for individuals are $50. A corporate membership is $125.

One of the major efforts the organization has undertaken is its scholarship program. Every year at the annual fund-raiser, an announcement is made of the minority student scholarship winners and the colleges they will attend.

BMA has provided lecture series and self-help workshops for its members. The organization has also participated in career fairs and mentoring programs for high school and college students.

The president of the organization is Ovette Davis, an administrator at the Purchasing Bureau of the Maryland Department of General Services. The organization meets every third Thursday of the month in the Red Cross building in Seton Park on Mount Hope Drive.

The next big event will be the spring dance, which will be held at the Forum, 4210 Primrose Ave., this Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. For tickets, call 547-3000.
