Airports raise capacity

THE BALTIMORE SUN

To accommodate increasing numbers of overseas passengers, Dulles International Airport near Washington has opened a new international arrivals building and Toronto's Pearson Airport has opened Trillium Terminal Three, Canada's first privately owned and operated international airport facility.

Dulles' new $34.5 million build- ing, to the west of the main terminal and connected to the ground floor arrivals area by a concourse, can handle four times as many peak-hour passengers as the old terminal.

Toronto's $520 million Trillium Terminal Three, a four-level building with moving sidewalks and 24 arrival and departure gates, increases the airport's capacity to 28 million passengers a year from 18 million.
