Gloucester Court wins Miller

THE BALTIMORE SUN

FORT WASHINGTON -- Gloucester Court ($17.80) just caught favored Complex Trooper in 1 minute, 53 1/5 seconds to take the $247,223 William E. Miller Memorial Pace last night at Rosecroft, while hometown horse Yankee Co-Ed ($10.40) took the $170,420 John W. Miller Memorial Pace in 1:56 3/5.

Gloucester Court, who upset Complex Trooper in their Miller elimination heat last week, had a rougher trip this time, having to battle the favorite head-to-head while racing on the outside. But for the second straight week, driver Jim Morrill Jr. was able to rally the On The Road Again-sired colt by Complex Trooper late, winning by a neck. Nuke Skywalker was third, another head back after closing strongly.
