Lawrence G. Vasold Sr., a retired pipefitter foreman at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. mills at Sparrows Point, died Tuesday of cancer at his home on Grace Road in Edgemere. He was 73.

Services for Mr. Vasold were being held today at the Duda-Ruck funeral establishment, 7922 Wise Ave., Dundalk.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Edna May Robinson; two sons, Lawrence G. Vasold Jr. of Essex, and Thomas E. Vasold of Catonsville; a brother, Ambrose E. Vasold of Baltimore; two sisters, Ethel Kamberger of Essex, and Mary M. Vasold of Dundalk; and six grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Lodge Forest United Methodist Church.
