THEFT: Northern District -- Bryant Whaley, of the 1500 block of Gleneagle Road, reported that while his car was parked in the 4400 block of Millbrook Road someone broke into it and stole property valued at $200 -- a tape recorder, watch, checks and a back pack.
THEFT: Northern District -- Leon Plater, of the 5100 block of Levindale Ave., told police someone entered his home Tuesday and stole a VCR valued at more than $200.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Zina Larry, of the 600 block of Cator Ave., told police she was walking in the 800 block of E. 41st St. around 9 a.m. yesterday when a man came up behind her and stole her purse, which contained cash and property valued at nearly $170.
THEFT: Northern District -- John Oakes, of the Ridgewood Apartments in the 300 block of Ridgemede Road, reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked near his home and took a baby stroller and other property, for a loss of more than $200.
THEFT: Northern District -- Shawn Kerr, of the 400 block of Tanglewood Court, told police his 1989 Nissan was parked in the 4500 block of N. Charles St. yesterday afternoon when someone broke into it and stole a radar detector and several books, all valued at nearly $200.
THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a 1986 Ford owned by Cameron Whetstone, of the 3600 block of Parkdale Ave., while it was parked in the 2000 block of Druid Park Lake Drive last evening and stole a radar detector valued at $300.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Adrian Ghee, of the 500 block of Rossiter Ave., reported he was walking in the 4000 block of Old York Road around 8 p.m. yesterday when a man threatened him and stole $200.
RAPE/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 20-year-old man and were holding him at the Eastern District lockup in connection with the rape Tuesday of a 21-year-old woman at the man's house in the 1900 block of Crestview Road. Police said the woman told them she is the suspect's ex-girlfriend and was raped at gunpoint around 5 p.m. when she went to the man's house to get some of her property. Following the attack, the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and released. Police said the man was to appear at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- John Sullivan, of the 1500 block of Winford Road, told police that after allowing a man into his house who said he was collecting for a newspaper, he discovered that an envelope containing more than $100 was missing from a room. Later, police arrested Roderick Joyner, 21, of the 3000 block of Wayne Ave., and charged him with theft. Police said Joyner was being held at the Eastern District pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police said a 13-year-old boy was attacked in the 4500 block of Marble Hall Road yesterday by two older boys who knocked him to the pavement and robbed him of several baseball cards of unknown value.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Officials of a real estate company reported that someone forced open the front door of an apartment they own in the 5200 block of Frankford Ave. and stole an air conditioner and a refrigerator valued at a total of more than $600.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Marguerite McMadden, 27, of the 4200 block of Clareway, told police she was walking in the 3800 block of Sinclair Lane around noon yesterday when a man shoved her aside and robbed her of her purse, which contained food stamps valued at $150, cash, personal items and papers. Police said the total value of the property was more than $400.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Grace Stancil, of the 3900 block of The Alameda, reported that someone entered the front porch of her home and stole three pieces of wrought iron furniture valued at nearly $1,000.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Aisquith St. reported that someone broke into his home through the kitchen door yesterday and stole a VCR and cash, all valued at nearly $300.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police said a 13-year-old resident of the 2900 block of The Alameda was in the 1600 block of E. 29th St. checking the air in one of his bike's tires when a man in his early to mid-20s approached and stole the bicycle, which was valued at $300.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Clarence Thompson, 38, of the 5900 block of Radecke Ave., told police he was in the 5500 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday when he was attacked by two men, one of whom held him by the arms as the other robbed him of property valued at nearly $400.
SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police reported that Dwayne Harvey, of the 300 block of Manordene Road, was in the 4500 block of Old Frederick Road Tuesday night when he was accosted by an unknown person who shot him. Police said Harvey was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Karen Horton, of the 4600 block of Manordene Road, told police she was walking near her home late Tuesday night when she was stopped by a man who stole her property and cash, all valued at $10.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4200 block of Parkton St. reported that someone broke into his home between Monday and yesterday through a rear basement door and ransacked several rooms, escaping with property valued at more than $1,000.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $500 was stolen from a dwelling in the 3000 block of Clifton Ave. after someone got in through a basement window. Police said the burglary occurred Tuesday between 8 and 9 p.m.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Alice Brown, of the 4600 block of Manordene Road, reported she was walking near her home when a man with a knife robbed her of personal property of unknown value.

ASSAULT: Towson District -- Police today were seeking two men, one with a handgun, who shot at two other men after a basketball game at a playground in the 400 block of Schwartz Ave. behind the York Road Shopping Center. Police said James S. Conley, 26, and his roommate, Otis Henson, 30, both of the 500 block of Harwood Ave., had finished playing basketball shortly before 8 p.m. when a quarrel broke out between them and two other men. Police said that during an exchange of words, one of the men pulled out a handgun and fired shots at Conley and Henson, neither of whom was hit. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled before officers arrived.
THEFT: White Marsh District -- Walter Smith, of the 100 block of Aspinwood Way, reported that between Tuesday and yesterday someone entered his property and stole his 1986 Honda motorcycle, valued at at least $2,000.
ROBBERY: Essex District -- Police said a man entered the 7-Eleven store in the 100 block of Compass Road in Aero Acres shortly before midnight and ordered a clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. Police said the man implied he had a weapon and escaped with an undisclosed sum.

ARREST: Marley Station -- FBI agents Tuesday arrested a Millersville man and charged him with the April 10 holdup of the Brooklyn Park branch of the Vermont Savings Association. Police said a car used in the robbery was traced to the suspect, who was arrested in the Marley Station parking lot without incident. Police said David Lee Hebb, 30, of the 1600 block of Crucible Court, is also suspected of committing five other bank robberies in the county between Dec. 4, 1990, and Feb. 28 of this year. Police said Hebb's description fits that of a man who robbed Chevy Chase Savings Bank in the 7900 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie on Dec. 4 and Dec. 14; Maryland National Bank in Severna Park on Jan. 9 and Feb. 7, and Vermont Savings Association in Brooklyn Park on Feb. 28. Following an appearance late Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Daniel Klein in Baltimore, Hebb was ordered held under 24-hour surveillance at the Volunteers of America work-release center pending his May 28 trial in U.S. District Court.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 200 block of Thompson Ave. through a side door and stole cash and jewelry valued at more than $3,000.
BURGLARY: Pasadena -- A resident of the 100 block of Hickory Point Road reported that someone broke into his home through a second-level porch door and stole a TV, VCR and several pieces of jewelry. Police said the value of the property was not immediately known.
Howard County
BURGLARY: Columbia -- Police reported that electronic equipment of unknown value was stolen from a dwelling in the 8900 block of Tamar Drive after someone entered through a rear window.
Carroll County
MURDER TRY/ARREST: Westminster -- Police this week arrested a 22-year-old Westminster man and charged him with the attempted murder and attempted robbery of a woman over the weekend. The woman, whose name and address were not available, told police she was assaulted by a man early Saturday on Poole Road and that the man held a knife to her throat while attempting to rob her. The woman escaped and reported the incident to a state trooper. Police said a warrant was obtained and that, as officers searched for the suspect, he turned himself in at the Westminster Barracks Sunday afternoon. Police said Charles Dwayne Morton, of the 900 block of Poole Road, was charged with nine criminal offenses, including attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and assault. Police said JTC Morton was being held at the county Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail.
