Richest harness program set for Saturday at Rosecroft


FORT WASHINGTON -- The richest harness-racing program of the year is scheduled for Saturday night at Rosecroft Raceway.

The $247,223 William E. Miller Memorial Pace tops the 13-race card, and the $170,420 John W. Miller Memorial Pace also will be contested.

Complex Trooper has been made the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the William E. Miller for 3-year-old colts. In the John W. Miller, the filly-race counterpart, Supremeness is the 3-1 choice.

Both races drew the maximum of nine entrants with also-eligibles lists.

Top drivers John Campbell, William O'Donnell and Jack Moiseyev will travel from New Jersey to compete.

AThe William E. Miller will be run as the ninth race, followed two races later by the John W. Miller.

The races are named for members of the family that founded Rosecroft.
