The U.S. House of Representatives recently approved a resolution designating May as "National Physical Fitness and Sports Month."
Introduced by Representative Beverly Byron, D-Maryland, and Representative Jerry Lewis, R-California, in conjunction with the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the legislation seeks to promote the importance of being physically fit and the benefits of regular exercise.
Physical Fitness and Sports Month kicked off May 1 with an early morning workout at the White House, and an afternoon workout at the Capitol led by the chairman of the President's Fitness Council, ArnoldSchwarzenegger.
