ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Western District -- Police said a 31-year-old woman was arrested last night and charged with pointing a handgun at an officer. They said that about 9:15 p.m., Officer John Peranio responded to a call of a disorderly woman in a house in the 1800 block of W. North Ave. Inside, he was confronted by a woman with a handgun. While she kept the weapon pointed at Peranio, police said, he talked to her, trying to persuade her to surrender it. After several minutes, the woman did so and was arrested by Peranio without further incident. Police said Eunice Blake, of the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Ave., was charged with assault by pointing a handgun at a police officer and using a handgun in the commission of a crime. Police said Blake was held overnight at the Women's Detention Center pending a bail hearing today in District Court.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man who shot at his girlfriend in a dwelling in the 1500 block of W. Fayette St. Police said Dawn Williams, of the 3200 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway, was arguing with her boyfriend when he picked up a large-caliber handgun. As the man was leaving the apartment, police said, he turned toward Williams and fired a shot. They said the bullet missed her.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Tina Harris, of the 1500 block of Woodyear St., reported she was in the 600 block of Gold St. when a man with a knife forced her to give up $2.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Carol Holmes, of the 1600 block of W. North Ave., told police she was robbed of her leather coat and cash, all valued at more than $200, by two men, one with a handgun, as she walked in the 1100 block of N. Monroe St.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police said Ahmed Rucker, of the 200 block of Midpines Court in Owings Mills, was listed today in fair condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was shot three times over the weekend in the 100 block of N. Payson St. Police said Rucker was attacked by two men, one with a handgun, who shot him three times. Police said the two were being sought on attempted murder charges.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man known as "Carl" in the assault and robbery late Saturday night of Rosita Dorsey, of the 500 block of Presstman St. Dorsey told police she was in the 1700 block of N. Carey St. when she was attacked by a man who struck her with his fists and demanded her money. Police said the man fled after Dorsey gave him $10.

THEFT: Western District -- Pamela Bates, of the 1000 block of N. Monroe St., reported she was in the 500 block of N. Monroe St. when a man snatched $60 from her hands. Police said the man is an acquaintance of Bates, who was advised to seek a warrant for his arrest.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Dwayne Fromberger, of the 1600 block of Bakbury Court, reported he was riding his multispeed bike in the 1700 block of W. Saratoga St. when two men knocked him down and stole the bike, valued at $200.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police said a man with a handgun entered the lobby of Shoney's Motor Inn in the 1400 block of Bloomfield Ave. and ordered the night clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. Police said he escaped with more than $100.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Gloria Lee, of the first block of N. Catherine St., reported she was in the 4500 block of Colborne Road when she was stopped by a man who reached into her jeans pockets and removed nearly $200.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 300 block of S. Furrow St. reported that someone broke into her home through a rear door and stole cassette tapes, a computer game and several computer game tapes, all valued at nearly $400.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Ray Valzanna, of the 2200 block of W. Pratt St., reported he was in the 1900 block of W. Pratt St. when a man grabbed him from behind and robbed him of more than $60.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that cash and several pieces of jewelry, valued at more than $600, were stolen from a dwelling in the 500 block of Brisbane Road after someone broke in through an unlocked door.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone used a key to enter a dwelling in the 4200 block of Loch Raven Blvd. yesterday and stole a TV and stereo equipment, valued at more than $1,000.

SHOTS FIRED: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a couple and were holding them pending charges of assault by firing a handgun at four people early yesterday in the 5200 block of Frankford Ave. Police said the man and woman, both residents of the 5200 block, were reportedly involved in a quarrel with four other people on the parking lot outside the man's apartment building when the man allegedly fired a handgun at the four others. Police said Debbie Boyd, 32, of the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave.; Anthony Holman, 22, and his brother, F. Holman, also 22, both of the 4300 block of Danlou Drive in the Villa Nova section of western Baltimore County; and Patricia Satchell, 22, of the 900 block of Ashbridge Drive in Middle River, were not wounded. Police said the male suspect was being held at the Eastern District lockup pending charges and a bail hearing today before a District Court commissioner. The woman, police said, was held overnight at the Women's Detention Center pending a bail hearing at Central District Court.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Jack Holt, of the 4400 block of Powell Ave., reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked near his home yesterday and stole a briefcase, papers and credit cards, all valued at $80.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Officials of Al Packer Ford in the 5800 block of Belair Road reported that someone entered the garage yesterday and drove away with a 1989 Eagle. Police said the value of the vehicle was not immediately known.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Robert Williams, of the 2300 block of Pentland Drive, reported his car was parked near his home yesterday when someone broke into it and stole an AM-FM stereo radio with an equalizer, of undetermined value.

RAPE ATTEMPT: Northeastern District -- Police said a woman reported she was in the 4100 block of Harford Road near Herring Run Park when she was attacked by a man with a knife who forced her into a wooded area. There, the woman reported to police, the man attempted to remove her clothing but fled when she resisted and cried out. Police said the woman was shaken but not injured.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Teresa Court reported that someone broke into her home through a front basement window yesterday and stole a VCR and stereo equipment from the living room.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Police said an 18-year-old was robbed of his cash yesterday while waiting for a bus in the 6900 block of Security Blvd. Gregory Manning, whose address was not available, told police he was waiting for a bus at 8:25 p.m. when he was approached by two men. Manning told police the men demanded his money and one of them implied he had a handgun but did not display a weapon. After robbing Manning of his money and a bottle of cologne, the men got into a blue-gray Ford Tempo and drove away.

ROBBERY: Towson District -- Police are seeking two men who robbed the Chalet Charles gourmet shop in the 6200 block of N. Charles St. of an undisclosed sum of cash last night. Police said two men entered the shop at 8:45 p.m., got a bottle of wine and placed it on the counter. Then one of the men pulled out a handgun, pointed it at a female employee and ordered her to empty the cash register and to give him a cash box from under the counter. After taking the money, the gunman and his accomplice ordered the woman and another employee to lie on the floor. Police said the robbers escaped.

Anne Arundel

ROBBERY/STABBING: Bacontown -- Police today continued their search for three men who attacked Louis Harold McGraw, 27, of the 8900 block of River Island Drive in Savage, as he walked along Whiskey Bottom Road at Spring Road early Sunday and robbed him of $200 in cash. McGraw told police one of the men stabbed him with the jagged edge of a broken beer bottle. Police said that after robbing McGraw of his money, the three fled. McGraw was taken by ambulance to the Greater Laurel-Beltsville Hospital, where he was treated for a stab wound of the left upper back.

DRUG ARREST: Brooklyn Park -- Police arrested a 20-year-old man and charged him with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after an officer spotted a pipe made of aluminum foil inside the man's car. Police said when an officer arrived at a ball field to investigate a report of disorderly teen-agers, he noticed that several youths were leaving but that a man remained in his car. Approaching the car, police said, the officer noticed a nightstick on the back seat and requested that the man put the potential weapon in the trunk. Police said that when the man got out of the car, the officer saw the pipe. Marijuana residue was also found. Police said Daniel Christopher Kincer, of the unit block of Pebble Drive, Brooklyn Park, was charged.

BURGLARY: Crofton -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 1400 block of Meyers Station Road through a rear door and stole cash, power tools and a 12-gauge shotgun, all valued at more than $2,000.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that several pieces of jewelry, valued at more than $4,700, were stolen from a bedroom of a dwelling in the 8000 block of Solley Road after someone broke in through a rear window.

Harford County

BURGLARY: Abingdon -- Sheriff's deputies reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 100 block of Spruce Wood Court and stole several pieces of jewelry and a wallet containing cash, for a total loss of nearly $2,300.

THEFT/VANDALISM: Abingdon -- Officials of Vernon L. Gauss Inc., in the 1300 block of Continental Drive, reported that someone stole copper fittings and tubing and also vandalized five vehicles parked on the company's property. Police said the loss totaled nearly $1,900.

BURGLARY: Havre de Grace -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 200 block of Wilson St. and stole stereo equipment valued at $4,000.

Howard County

BURGLARIES/ARREST: Columbia -- Police yesterday arrested Sherman Wayne Lee, 34, of the 9900 block of Guilford Road in Jessup, and charged him with breaking into at least five businesses over the past several weeks and stealing computer equipment valued at more than $100,000. Police said Lee, an employee of a delivery firm in Washington, was held overnight at the county Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bond. Police said the arrest led to the recovery of $30,000 worth of computer equipment reported stolen from several business firms in the Guilford Road area. In addition to computer equipment, police also recovered radios and TVs that had been reported stolen. They said most of the recovered equipment was found in Lee's apartment. Police said many of the firms that were burglarized didn't have security systems.
