Whip Cream's big move produces Pimlico victory

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Favored Whip Cream made a strong move on the final turn and romped home an easy winner in yesterday's feature at Pimlico, a $22,000 allowance test for older fillies and mares.

The mare took the lead at top of the stretch, after trailing by five lengths going into the turn. She covered the mile and one-sixteenth on the firm turf in 1:42.

Jockey Edgar Prado was aboard Whip Cream, giving him three wins for the afternoon.

Whip Cream paid $3.80, 2.80 and 2.60. Gaylord's Annie finished second, paying $4.60 and 4.20. Thirtyeightcaliber, who set the pace until being overtaken by Whip Cream, was third and returned $4.40 to show.
