'Les Liaisons Dangereuses'

The Baltimore premiere of Christopher Hampton's "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" concludes the season at Fells Point Corner Theatre, 251 S. Ann St., with a five-weekend run beginning Friday. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. with matinees May 26 and June 9 at 2 p.m.

A tale of power plays and sexual intrigue in 18th century France, "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" was remade as a movie in 1988 under the English language title "Dangerous Liaisons." Fells Point Corner's production will be directed by Barry Feinstein. Tickets are $7. For more information call 276-7837. The Baltimore Film Forum on Thursday will present nine short films selected from the 10th Annual Edison Black Maria Film and Video Festival. The program features a variety of aesthetically fTC explorational work from around the world. Included Thursday is the Australian film "Night Cries" and Black Maria winner "DiaAna's Hair Ego: AIDS Info Up Front."

The screening will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Admission is $5, $4 for BMA/BFF members, students and seniors. Call 889-1993 for information.

The Maryland Ballet, its season-interrupting financial difficulties resolved, will perform Friday, Saturday and next Sunday at its new home, Loyola College's McManus Theatre. The ballet will present several new works, including two world premieres by artistic director Philip Carman, along with George Balanchine's "Tarantella."

Performance times are 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $18 and $20. For more information, call 576-2400.
