Retired Navy Capt. James E. Weston today was convicted of seven conspiracy, bribery and obstruction of justice charges by a federal jury that deliberated only two hours at the end of a two-week trial.
The charges were tied to crimes committed while he was the Naval Academy's public works officer. Weston sat stone-faced as the verdicts were read. He faces up to 36 years in prison. Earlier details, D3.
