DRUG ARRESTS: Western District -- Police last night arrested 20 men on various drug charges during a sweep of several neighborhoods. Police said the charges included possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana and possession of the same drugs with intent to distribute. The men, police said, were arrested between 4 p.m. and midnight in the 600 block of N. Payson St.; the 700 block of N. Calhoun St.; the 1000 block of N. Stockton St.; the 1800 block of N. Pulaski St.; the 700 block of N. Fulton Ave., and the 1800 block of W. Lanvale St. Police said a small quantity of drugs was recovered during the arrests and that all the men were held overnight at the station lockup pending bail review hearings today before a District Court commissioner. In addition, police arrested 13 other men in unrelated drug cases and were holding them at the station pending bail hearings.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Tammy Christon, 25, of the 4000 block of Sinclair Lane, reported that during an incident at her home, a man she knows hit her with his fists. Police said Christon refused medical treatment and was advised to seek a warrant for the man's arrest. Immediately following the assault on Christon, Anthony Romeo, 28, of the 200 block of S. Clinton St., the man who allegedly struck Christon, was assaulted by a man with a shovel outside Christon's house. Police said Romeo sustained serious injuries to the upper body and an arm and was hospitalized at Francis Scott Key Medical Center.
THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the Giant Food store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane arrested a teen-age girl who attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. Police said the teen-ager was detained by a store security officer until police arrived. The teen-ager was charged as a juvenile and released in the custody of her parents pending action by juvenile authorities.
THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police reported a woman was arrested when she attempted to leave the K mart store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $36. Police said the woman was stopped by a store security officer when he noticed she failed to enter the check-out line and pay for the items. Police said the woman was taken to the women's detention center at the Central District pending theft charges.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3300 block of Kentucky Ave. reported that someone broke into her home through the basement door and took several pieces of property.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported a deliveryman for Domino's Pizza in the 6300 block of Sherwood Ave. was accosted by a man with a handgun on Ramblewood Road Tuesday night and robbed of $30. Police said the deliveryman, whose name was not available, was returning to his car after delivering a food order to the residents of a house in the 1200 block of Ramblewood Road when he was stopped by a man who demanded his money.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- August VanDe Castle, of the 4200 block of Harford Terrace, reported that someone entered his home early yesterday and took property valued at more than $500. Police said cash and several checks were reported taken from a bedroom dresser drawer.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Daniel Cammue, of the 2400 block of Bridgehampton Drive, reported that someone broke into his car while it was on the lot of the Exxon service station in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway and took an in--- AM-FM stereo cassette radio.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Officials of C&P; Management in the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane reported that someone broke into the maintenance shop and took three extension cords, three toilet seats, at least one toilet and a vacuum cleaner. Police said entry into the shop was through a side door.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Ida Dee, of the 3600 block of Echodale Ave., reported that someone took property valued at more than $100 from her back porch.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Fashion Bug in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane reported that a man took an assortment of clothing from the store. Police said that an inventory indicated the clothing was valued at nearly $340.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 200 block of Southway reported that someone broke into his garage and took several bikes, valued at more than $1,000.
THEFT: Northern District -- Paul Canner, of the 700 block of N. Hilton St., reported someone broke into his parked car in the 5800 block of York Road and took an electronic portable calculator valued at $200.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Charles Blake, of the 600 block of Willow Ave., reported he was walking near his home early yesterday when he was accosted by a man with a handgun who forced him to give up his money. Police said Blake gave up more than $200 to the man.
THEFT: Northern District -- An employee of DD Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. in the first block of N. Carey St. reported that someone entered the company's work site in the 3100 block of Swan Drive in Druid Hill Park and took a gas-operated generator valued at $2,000.
THEFT: Northern District -- Jeong Kim, of the 300 block of Broadleaf Court in Parkville, told police that someone took 17 cartons of cigarettes from his parked car in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Blvd. yesterday.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Officials of the Johns Hopkins University Space Telescope Science Institute in the 3500 block of San Martin Drive reported that someone entered a room between April 22 and April 29 and took computer equipment.
THEFT: Northern District -- Amy Arthur, of the 3700 block of Brice Run Road in Randallstown, reported her 1991 Geo was parked in the 500 block of Campbell Lane yesterday when someone took all four wheel covers.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone apparently used a key to enter an apartment in the 100 block of Hamlet Hill Road at the Village of Cross Keys and took several pieces of jewelry and a telephone, all valued at more than $1,000. Police said the burglary occurred yesterday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

SEX ARRESTS: Garrison District -- Three Pikesville Middle School students were released in the custody of their parents following charges that during a gym class Tuesday each sexually assaulted a 14-year-old female student. The girl told police that while no teachers were present, she was grabbed by one boy and pulled to the boys' side of the gym which was divided by a portable wall. There, according to the girl's report, one boy grabbed her around the mouth while at least two others fondled her. The girl told police the incident was witnessed by several other students. Following an investigation of the incident, police went to the homes of two 14-year-old boys Tuesday night and charged each with a third-degree sex offense. After police filed the charges at the station, the two boys were allowed to return home. Last night, a 15-year-old boy arrived at the station with his parents and an attorney and was also charged and released. Police said all three boys were charged as juveniles and that a hearing date had not been set.
BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 4300 block of Chapel Road reported that someone broke into his garage and took a drill press valued at nearly $200.
BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Employees of the Carney Garage in the 4100 block of E. Joppa Road reported that someone broke into their office between between Sunday and Tuesday and took a set of car keys used to steal a 1989 Ford. Police said the car's license plates are XDC-474 and that the vehicle has not been found.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Glen Burnie -- Police arrested Steven Lawrence Curran, 18, of the 1000 block of Genine Drive in the Margate section of Glen Burnie, and charged him with three counts of assault with intent to murder, four counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, four counts of reckless endangerment and one count of destruction of property following a shooting incident Monday outside his home. Police said Lidia Dicke, of Glen Burnie, was driving her 1988 Ford Bronco near her home around 8 p.m. Monday when she became involved in an argument over a traffic incident. In the Bronco at the time, police said, was the woman's husband, Philip, and the couple's 2-year-old son. Police said the woman followed Curran to his home to get his license number and that Curran came out of the house carrying a knife. During a confrontation, Philip Dicke disarmed Curran, who went back into his home and emerged carrying a rifle. Police said Curran then fired at least six shots into the Bronco, narrowly missing the child, who was strapped into a car seat in the rear of the vehicle. After police arrived, Curran's father, Earl, became disorderly and attempted to attack Philip Dicke. Police arrested the father and charged him with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police said the Dicke vehicle was hit at least six times, but that no one was injured. Bail information on the Currans was not immediately available.
ROBBERY: White Hall -- Police reported the attendant at a service station on U.S. 50 at Whitehall Road near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was injured Tuesday night during a robbery. Police said Christopher Rushe, 18, was working alone when a man entered the station and struck him over the head and took an undisclosed sum of money from the cash drawer and safe. Police said Rushe, who was knocked unconscious, was later found lying on the office floor by two customers who stopped to get gas. Police said Rushe was taken to the Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
ASSAULT/ARREST: Annapolis -- Police arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him with the attempted murder of Friedhelm Haag, 36, of the 100 block of Gardner Drive, Annapolis, during an incident in front of a record store in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road. Police said officers responding to a report of an injured man in front of the Annapolis Record & Tape Exchange found Haag lying on the pavement and bleeding from leg and head injuries. Haag told police he was attacked by a man who robbed him of $5 just moments before. Police said Haag was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released. Police said a search of the immediate area of the store resulted in the arrest of James J. Canter 2nd, 25, of the 900 block of Old Annapolis Neck Road. Canter was charged with robbery, assault and assault with intent to murder.
BURGLARY: Brooklyn Park -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 200 block of Werner Road over the weekend and took property valued at $4,000. Police said the burglar made off with appliances and several pieces of jewelry.
Carroll County
DRUG ARREST: Mount Airy -- Following a routine traffic stop, State Police arrested a Baltimore motorist and charged him with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Police said Thomas C. League, 25, of the 2500 block of Chesterfield Ave., was stopped on Md. 27 near Ridge Avenue Monday and that a search of the vehicle resulted in the drug charges. League was released after posting $3,000 bond.
