Services will take place for Edward M. Cox Jr. at 8:30 p.m. today atHardesty Funeral Home in Galesville.

Mr. Cox, 68, died of a heartattack April 27 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

He worked as a mechanical tester of turbines for Westinghouse Corp. in Lester, Pa., for 42 years until his retirement in 1981.

He had been a resident of Henderson, Nev., for the past five years.

His interests included fishing, crabbing and casino gambling.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Cox of Henderson, Nev.; a son, Michael E. Cox Sr. of Edgewater; a daughter, Darlene Durrett of Henderson, Nev.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 827 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, Md. 21035.

GEORGE L. DUKE CITY WORKER, 88

Services will take place for Severna Park resident George Lorin Duke at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Duke, 88, died of heart failure April 27 at Meridian Nursing Center in Severna Park.

Born in Wilmington, N.C., he moved to Baltimore at 21 and lived in Brooklyn Park for over 30 years.

He was employed by theBaltimore City Traffic and Transit Department for 13 years, retiringin 1965.

Prior to that, he was employed at Neissman's Paint Co. and he worked for Koppers Co. during World War II.

Mr. Duke was a member of Glen Burnie Moose Lodge.

His interests included reading.

His wife of 63 years, Thelma E. Turner Duke, died in 1989.

He is survived by a son, Richard G. Duke of Severna Park; two half-sisters, Helen Duke of Wilmington, N.C., and Mattie Allen of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
