He visits Fernbrook Manor in Odenton once a week.

Organization's comments: "Clark was asked to sit on the steering committee as a representative from Woods Memorial Church in the fall of 1988 and has been an active participant in both the steering committee and the volunteer visitor program. He is well deserving of recognition for his serivce to the community," said Doreen E. McGill, volunteer coordinator, ALFE program.

Volunteers comments: "Basically, the reason I volunteer is everyone ought to pull their weight as long as they can and even more so ifpossible," said Beiler. "I visit people in the board and care homes or foster care homes. I'm a Friendly Visitor advocate. I also help the provider at the facility. It depends on the situation and whether you can get them motivated," he said. "I take people shopping or walking across the street to run errands. I also volunteer with the Representative Payee Program, where I help people take care of finances -- like their social security or support checks. I make sure their billsare paid and taken care of."
