BANK ROBBERY: Central District -- Police reported a man with a handgun entered the Carrollton Bank of Baltimore in 2 Charles Plaza shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday and ordered two tellers to give him money from their cash drawers. Police said the tellers complied, giving the man more than $3,800 in cash and at least one explosive dye pack. Outside the bank, the gunman was running past a hair salon when the dye pack exploded, filling the air and the inside of the salon with red smoke. Police said the startled robber dropped the money and escaped. Police said nearly all the money was recovered, but that a small sum was unaccounted for. Police said several of the hair salon's customers inhaled the smoke necessitating treatment by a fire department medic unit.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police reported a man with a handgun accosted a man, his wife and the couple's daughter as they were about to enter their home in the 2100 block of Rogers Ave. around 10 p.m. Wednesday and robbed them of cash and property, all valued at more than $400. Police said James Howard, 47; his wife Cheryl, 45, and their 16-year-old daughter were getting out of their car when a gunman approached from the darkness and ordered them to give up their money. Police said the gunman got $21 from the woman, $2 from the daughter and $100 and a wristwatch valued at $285 from the man.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Todd Owens, of the 4500 block of Keswick Road, reported he was standing near his car outside his home Wednesday when a man with a handgun demanded his money. Police said the gunman robbed Owens of $17.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Ramblewood Road reported that someone broke into his garage between Wednesday and yesterday and removed tools valued at $200.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Robert Lanefeld, of the 1500 block of Sheffield Road, told police that when he answered a knock at his door yesterday he was attacked by a man who pushed him back inside and robbed him of cash and property, all valued at nearly $300.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the K mart in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday arrested three men who attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $90. Police said Bryon Toliver, 27, of the 19500 block of Crystal Beach Drive in Arnold, Anne Arundel County; James Thomas, 22, of the 4700 block of Strathdale Road, and Vincent B. Wood, 22, of the 4700 block of Denview Way, were each charged with theft and were being held at the Eastern District station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police responding to a burglary at Cobblers and Cleaners in the first block of N. Calvert St. Wednesday evening entered the building and arrested a man who apparently had hidden inside the store before it closed. Police said nothing appeared to be missing from the shop and that the man was later charged with burglary. His name was not immediately available.

THEFT: Central District -- Jeffrey Reich, an out-of-town resident, reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 300 block of W. 29th St. and removed property valued at more than $250.

ASSAULT: Central District -- John Debro, of the 2300 block of Callow Ave., reported to police that during an incident in his apartment early yesterday a man struck him in the face with a handgun. Police said the armed man fled and is being sought. Police said Debro was slightly injured.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that an 8-year-old resident of the 3000 block of The Alameda was riding his bike in the 1600 block of E. 29th St. yesterday afternoon when he was pushed to the ground by a man in his late 20s or early 30s who stole the bike, valued at $130.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A deliveryman for Domino's Pizza in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road reported he was returning to his car after delivering a food order in the 5300 block of Leith Road around 11 p.m. yesterday when he was accosted by a man with a handgun who forced him to give up his money. Police said the deliveryman complied, giving the gunman less than $30.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Michael Cole, of the 3500 block of Bank St., reported he was driving in the 1600 block of N. Calvert St. early yesterday when he stopped a man and asked for directions. Police said while Cole talked to the man, the man ripped Cole's gold chain from his neck and fled. Police said the jewelry was valued at $600.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station pending charges that he broke into a dwelling in the 1800 block of Etting St. with intent to steal property. Police said when officers entered the dwelling and confronted the man, he admitted that he had broken in.

THEFT: Central District -- Officials of the Baltimore Fire Department reported that a piece of testing equipment was removed from the 400 block of E. Baltimore St. Police said the equipment was valued at $2,000.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Ellen Harman, of the first block of E. 20th St., reported she was seated in her car while stopped in the 200 block of W. Madison St. around noon yesterday when she was approached by a man who asked her for money. Police said the man suddenly reached into the open car window and stole Harman's wallet. Police said the man fled with cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

THEFT: Central District -- Bahra Gurbinder, of the 14800 block of Crosswood Terrace in Burtonsville, Howard County, told police someone broke into his parked car in the 400 block of Water St. and removed nearly $500 worth of tools.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5700 block of Moravia Road reported that someone broke into her home yesterday through an unlocked window and removed two 20-inch gold necklaces. Police said the jewelry was valued at more than $400.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 5800 block of Chinquapin Parkway reported that someone broke into his home between Wednesday and yesterday and removed property valued at $100.

THEFT: Northern District -- John Smith, of the 3800 block of Roland View Ave., reported that someone entered his bedroom and removed a .32-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver from the night stand.

THEFT: Northern District -- Luke Miller, of the 100 block of Tunbridge Road, told police that someone removed wrought iron furniture valued at $500 from his yard.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Edward Bartkowiak and Margaret Herbert, both of the 5100 block of Hillburn Ave., reported that someone removed United States and state flags from in front of their homes. Bartkowiak told police that someone stole a U.S. flag and a Maryland flag from his home and that the flags were valued at more than $60. Herbert told police an American flag valued at $15 was removed from the front of her house.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Kevin Meiser, of the 3200 block of Kenyon Ave., reported that someone broke into his parked car near his home and removed an AM-FM cassette player. Police said the property was valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,000 was removed from a garage in the rear of the 1200 block of Lakeside Ave. Police said the intruder removed a hydraulic car jack and other tools. Police said the intruder forced open the garage door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Frances Butts, of the first block of Solar Circle in Baltimore County, reported that someone broke into her car while it was parked in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway and removed an in--- AM-FM radio valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 400 block of W. Baltimore St. told police that someone broke into his apartment through a second-floor window and removed a telephone answering machine. Police said the property was valued at $100.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police said two electronic keyboards, personal papers and keys were removed from a dwelling in the 2100 block of Maryland Ave. after someone gained entry through a window. Police said the value of the property was not immediately available.

THEFT: Central District -- Gary Klado, of the 900 block of Cedarcrest Circle in Edgewood, Harford County, reported that his car was parked in the first block of E. North Ave. yesterday when someone broke into the vehicle and removed a jacket valued at nearly $300. Police said entry was gained by forcing open a window.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Bolton St. reported that someone broke into his apartment through a first-floor door and removed a VCR and a stereo cassette player. Police said the property was valued at more than $800.

THEFT: Western District -- Lillian Mosley, of the 900 block of N. Warwick Ave., reported that someone removed garden furniture worth more than $200 from her property.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Police reported a man with a screwdriver entered the High's dairy store in the 5200 block Baltimore National Pike shortly before 11 p.m. yesterday and forced a clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. Police said the man fled with an undisclosed sum of cash.

Anne Arundel

ROBBERY: Glen Burnie -- Ervin Queen, 20, of Annapolis, told police he was using a public phone outside a convenience store at Quarterfield Road and Parke West Drive early yesterday when a man attacked him with an unknown object and robbed him of a $20 bill he held in his hand. Police said Queen sustained a minor chest injury and was taken to North Arundel Hospital for treatment and released.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Severn -- Police investigating a burglary early Tuesday at the Van Bokkelen Elementary School in the 1100 block of Reece Road entered the building and were searching for the intruder when they spotted a teen-ager dart across a hallway. Police said Officer T.J. Bathras Jr.'s K-9 dog Banshee moments later cornered a 15-year-old, who gave up without incident. Police said the youth was charged as a delinquent in the burglary and was released in the custody of his parents.

DRUG ARRESTS: Millersville -- Police arrested two men outside a tavern on Md. 175 and charged them with possession of crack cocaine and narcotics paraphernalia. Police said two undercover officers working a narcotics detail outside My Place, a bar on Md. 175, spotted two men enter the bar and leave moments later. Police said the officers then saw one of the men place something in a pipe while the pair stood on the parking lot. The officers approached the men and recovered two rocks of crack cocaine and the pipe. Charged were Michael Ray Boudris, 23, and David Stouer, 22, both of Millersville.

BURGLARY: Galesville -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 4800 block of Church Lane and removed property valued at more than $1,000. Police said several pieces of furniture were removed from the home and that entry was gained through a door.

BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police said several pieces of jewelry were removed from a dwelling in the 8000 block of Solley Road after someone gained entry through a door.
