Two killed as car crashes, overturns

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Two Carroll County residents were killed last night when they were ejected from a car that crossed the center line, struck another vehicle and two trees and overturned, State Police at Westminster said.

The accident occurred abut 6:55 p.m. on Md. 75 near Md. 84 in New Windsor, police said.

Pronounced dead at the scene were Beth Ann Freise, 29, of the first block of Liberty St. in Westminster, and her passenger, Oscar William Buckingham, 42, of the 100 block of Church St. in New Windsor, police said.

The driver of the vehicle hit by Freise's car, Brenda Storey, 25, of Union Bridge, was treated for minor injuries at Carroll County General Hospital and released.

Police said excessive speed and driver error by Freise contributed to the accident and that an autopsy by the state medical examiner's office was scheduled today to determine if alcohol or drug use played a role in the crash.
