Robert E. Smith

Robert E. Smith, receiving clerk at the General Motors Corp. parts warehouse in Dorsey, died Monday at Union Memorial Hospital of complications to cancer. He was 60 and lived on Elmley Avenue.

A memorial mass for Mr. Smith will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Roman Catholic Shrine of the Little Flower, Belair Road and Brendan Avenue.

He worked for the automobile company for 18 years, starting at the Broening Highway plant.

A native of Baltimore and a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute, he took engineering courses at Johns Hopkins University and served in the Navy during and after the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Miyasaki; a son, Wayde A. Smith of Elkridge; a daughter, Michele N. Cooley of Dallas; a brother, Charles W. Smith of Dundalk; and a grandson.

The family suggested contributions to the Lost Cord Club at 510 Kent Road in Glen Burnie.
