ACC tournament is top-rated

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Three of the top four teams in The Sun's lacrosse poll will be competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament Friday and Saturday at Duke University in Durham, N.C.

Top-ranked North Carolina (10-0) will play unranked Duke (7-4) at 8 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader in the Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium. The first game will pit No. 3 Virginia (9-2) against No. 4 Maryland (7-2), which is coming off an 11-8 win over Johns Hopkins. The survivors will meet for the ACC title Saturday at 8 p.m.

"It's hard to figure these things [season-ending conference tournaments], but this one has a lot of significance for all the teams involved," said Jim "Ace" Adams, Virginia coach.
