SHOOTING: Western District -- Police reported that Jerald Banks, 19, of the 1500 block of N. Payson St., was shot and seriously wounded last night during a running gun battle in the 1700 block of McKean Ave. Police said Banks was shot several times by at least one gunman and was rushed by ambulance to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was listed today in serious condition. Police said Banks' assailant or assailants escaped.
ROBBERY: Eastern District -- Diane Williams, of the 1100 block of Forrest St., reported she was walking in the 1900 block of Hope St. around 4 p.m. Saturday when she was approached from behind by two men who grabbed her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $140.
BURGLARY: Eastern District -- A resident of the 900 block of N. Collington Ave. reported that someone forced open the front door of his home Saturday night and stole two VCRs, together valued at more than $500.
CAB HOLDUP: Eastern District -- Harry Elickson, a Royal cab driver, reported that his male passenger stopped him in the 400 block of E. Lafayette Ave. early Saturday, pulled out a handgun, demanded money, and took about $40 from the victim's shirt pocket before running away.
SHOOTING: Eastern District -- Kevin Green, of the 2000 block of N. Monroe St., reported that he was walking in the 1000 block of N. Broadway around 2 p.m. yesterday when he heard three gunshots and felt a pain in his left side. Police said Green, who was apparently hit by a stray bullet, was listed today in good condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
ROBBERY TRY: Eastern District -- Police said Loureen Jones, 61, of the 1100 block of Mirga Circle, Woodlawn, reported she was walking in the 800 block of N. Bond St. Saturday when a man attacked her from behind, knocked her down and tried to steal her purse, but she resisted and cried out and he ran. Police said Jones was not injured.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Fenwick Ave. reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and stole a TV valued at nearly $500.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a VCR, movie tapes and cash, all valued at nearly $1,600, were stolen from a dwelling in the 5300 block of Goodnow Road over the weekend after someone gained entry through a bedroom window.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Robert Broadway, of the 4400 block of Franconia Drive, reported that a man stabbed him at home early yesterday with a screwdriver, inflicting a minor injury. Police arrested a suspect and were holding him pending charges.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Kevin Gately, of the 1100 block of Cowpens Road, Towson, reported that someone broke a rear window of his parked Ford Ranger in the 2800 block of Clifton Park Terrace early yesterday and stole several pieces of clothing and an electric drill, all valued at more than $1,200.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Mary Panzer, of the 2800 block of Grindon Ave., reported that someone entered the back yard of her home over the weekend and stole a 6-foot-high pine wishing well lawn ornament valued at nearly $300.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Lyubov Kozlyuk, of the 3500 block of Shannon Drive, told police she was walking across the parking lot of a department store in the 2400 block of Belair Road early last evening when a youth approached her from behind and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Gorsuch Ave. reported that someone broke into her home over the weekend and stole a $200 TV from the bedroom.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a dwelling in the 300 block of E. 25th St. through an unlocked door and stole a TV valued at nearly $150.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Brook Comber, of the 700 block of E. 37th St., reported he was in the 500 block of E. 34th St. early yesterday when a man with a handgun robbed him of his walled and $5.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 5300 block of the Alameda reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and stole a ring, a pair of shoes and a VCR, all of unknown value.
THEFT: Northern District -- Employees of Bob Bell's Caterers, in the 6800 block of Eastern Ave., reported that someone stole more than $1,000 from their booth at the spring festival at Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Rosalind Hill, of the 900 block of Pennsylvania Ave., reported that a man drove her to an unknown wooded area late Saturday night and robbed her of more than $50. Police arrested a suspect and were holding him pending charges.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Marlow Foster, of the 4700 block of Old York Road, reported that he was in the 4500 block of York Road last evening when a man with a handgun robbed him of more than $60. Police arrested a suspect a short time later and were holding him pending charges.
ROBBERY: Western District -- George Atkins, of the 4300 block of Reisterstown Road, reported he was in the 900 block of W. Franklin St. shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of nearly $80.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Thomas Canterbury, of the 600 block of E. 30th St., reported he was in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. late Saturday night when three men, one armed with a handgun, robbed him of his wallet and more than $100.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Julie Kassen, of the first block of S. Fulton Ave., reported she was in the first block of N. Gilmor St. early yesterday when two men, one with a gun, robbed her of $50.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Darnell Ridgley, of the 700 block ++ of N. Grantley St., reported he was in the 1700 block of W. North Ave. around 3 a.m. yesterday when a gunman and an accomplice robbed him of his jewelry, watch and carrying bag, all valued at more than $400.
SHOOTING: Western District -- Police today were seeking a man known as "Twin" in the shooting early yesterday of Antoine Smith, of the 1800 block of Guilford Ave. Police said Smith was in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. when a man with a handgun shot him in the lower back when he attempted to flee. Smith was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- A man in his late teens or early 20s entered Tim's Motel in the 4400 block of Washington Blvd. around 12:15 a.m. today and stole an undisclosed sum of money from the cash register at the front desk but did not display a weapon.

DRUG ARREST: Severn -- After selling a quantity of crack cocaine to an undercover officer over the weekend, police arrested Darryl Anthony Reid, 26, of the 1700 block of Meade Village Road, was charged with distribution of crack cocaine. Police said an undercover officer bought a quantity of the drug in the Meade Village area over the weekend.
DRUG ARRESTS: Odenton -- Police arrested four Baltimore men last week and charged them with selling fake crack cocaine. Police said undercover officers were outside My Place Bar on Md. 175 when they were approached by four men who offered to sell them a glass vial of crack cocaine for $70. The officers paid with bills whose serial numbers were recorded, and the sellers drove off. Moments later, the undercover officers called for a uniformed officer in a marked car to stop the four. Police said the driver had money on him that was used in the purchase. Police said they found a hypodermic syringe and a bag of marijuana in the car. Charged with selling the phony crack cocaine were Kim Steven Nichols, 29, and Timothy Nichols Preston, 31, both of the 2200 block of Norfolk St. in Westport; Wendell Eugene Queen, 29, of the 1600 block of Braddish Ave. in West Baltimore; and Donald Walker, 45, of the 3400 block of Childs Court in Curtis Bay. Police said other drug charges were pending.
