SHOOTING: Northern District -- Sylvester Brown, of the 500 block of Wyanoke Ave., reported he was in the 700 block of Cator Ave. shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday when he was shot by a man he knows. Police said Brown, whose head was grazed by the bullet, was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released. Police said the gunman was being sought.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Employees of the P&J; Trucking Co. in the 200 block of S. Kresson St. reported that someone entered the property between 11 p.m. and midnight Wednesday and removed 10 truck tires. Police said the tires had a total value of $1,000.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Charles Heree, 19, of the 800 block of N. Castle St., reported he was walking near his home when he was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled with more than $90.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that two men, one with a handgun, entered the Shell auto center in the 2000 block of Orleans St. about 11 a.m. Wednesday and removed several hundred dollars from a secured area before forcing an attendant into a back room. The attendant, who was unharmed, called police several minutes after the gunman and his accomplice escaped.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southeastern District -- Police responding to a burglary in progress at Sheppard's Discount Mart in the 3800 block of Eastern Ave. arrested a man and a teen-ager when they attempted to flee. Police said the pair climbed up a rainspout to a window. Police said both were being held at the station pending burglary charges.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Danita Dennis, 18, of the 2200 block of Ashland Ave., told police she was in the 700 block of N. Castle St. yesterday evening when she was stopped by a man with a handgun who forced her to give up her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $170.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Austin Brown, of the 2100 block of Boyd St., reported he was in the 4000 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday morning when he was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who robbed him of his money and jewelry. Police said the gunman and his companion escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $200.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Bobby Edwards, of the 2600 block of Rosewood Ave., told police that during an incident in the 4500 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday, he was assaulted by a man who shot him in the leg. Police said Edwards was admitted at Sinai Hospital.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Employees of G&B; Auto Repair in the 2600 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway reported that someone broke into the garage through the front door and removed tools valued at nearly $1,300.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 5500 block of Lynview Ave. reported that someone broke into his home and removed a bike valued at more than $100. Later, police arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with the incident and charged him as a juvenile with burglary. Following charges, police released the youth in the custody of his parents.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Glenwood Johnson, of the 8800 block of Fontana Lane in the White Marsh section of Baltimore County, told police he was robbed of $80 while standing next to an automatic teller machine in the 1200 block of Mondawmin Ave. Wednesday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who entered Slater's Grocery and Delicatessen in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. and gave a cashier a note demanding money. Police said that when the clerk read the note, she began to laugh, causing the unarmed man to run out of the store without taking any money.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Ashburton St. reported to police that someone broke into her home and removed a cheese steak sub, a package of hot dogs, several eggs and other food items.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that a wooden table and carpeting was removed from a dwelling in the 700 block of N. Carey St. after someone broke in. Police said the property was valued at more than $300.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at more than $300 was removed from a dwelling in the 1600 block of N. Appleton St. after someone used a key to gain entry. Police said the burglar made off with a TV and a radio.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Debbie Walls, of the 1100 block of Mosher St., reported that during an incident involving her ex-boyfriend at her home late Wednesday night, she was choked and nearly smothered when the man placed a pillow over her face. Police said Walls was treated for injuries at the scene by the crew of a fire department ambulance and that a suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of the E&K; food market in the 1700 block of Lorman St. reported that someone broke into the store through a side door and removed cash and a large quantity of cigarettes. Police said the property was valued at more than $2,000.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Linwood Jackson, of the 1000 block of N. Caroline St., told police he was robbed of $14 when a man armed with a handgun stopped him as he walked in the 2500 block of Eutaw Place.

RAPE: Western District -- Police were seeking three men in connection with the rape of a woman in a park off the 2300 block of Baker St. The victim reported she was assaulted by three men who dragged her into the park and raped her. Following the incident, police said, the woman was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she was treated, then released.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- An elderly resident of the 3100 block of Chesterfield Ave. reported that after allowing a man into her home yesterday she later discovered $40 missing from her purse. It was not immediately known what ruse the man used to enter the home.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of E. 33rd St. reported that someone broke into his home yesterday and removed two VCRs. Police said the property was valued at nearly $600 and that entry was gained by breaking a pane of glass in a door.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a 20-inch bike valued at $150 was removed from an unlocked outdoor storage shed in the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 39-year-old man yesterday and were holding him at the Eastern District pending charges that he attempted to leave the 7-Eleven store in the 2900 block of Harford Road without paying for food items valued at more than $30.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Laura Campbell, of the 2800 block of Chesterfield Ave., reported that someone broke into her car that was parked near her home and removed a set of golf clubs. Police said the sports equipment was valued at $800.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Woodson Road reported that someone broke into her home yesterday and removed property valued at more than $1,200. Police said entry was gained through a window and that the intruder escaped with a microwave oven, a TV, jewelry and a compact disc player.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $700 was removed from a dwelling in the 800 block of McCabe Ave. after someone gained entry by breaking a rear window. Police said a telephone and a 26-inch TV were removed from the home.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Valerie Ferguson, of the 2400 block of Lakeview Ave., told police she was in the 800 block of Druid Park Lake Drive yesterday when she was accosted by a man who approached her from behind and robbed her of her purse while placing an unknown object in her back. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $400.

THEFT: Northern District -- Karen Evans, of the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave., reported that someone entered the living room of her home yesterday and removed a check made out to her for $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone entered her apartment yesterday and removed property valued at more than $1,000. Police said it appeared a key was used to enter the dwelling.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Charles Wainwright, of the 4400 block of Craddock Ave., reported he was in the 4500 block of York Road about 3:30 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked by a man who struck him with a baseball bat and robbed him of cash and property, all valued at $200.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Police reported that a man with a handgun entered the High's dairy store in the 3800 block of Hollins Ferry Road shortly before 9 p.m. yesterday and ordered the clerk to open the cash register. Police said that when the clerk opened the register, the gunman reached inside and removed an undisclosed sum of cash before running out of the store.

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- Charles E. Kent, of the 2900 block of Riggs Ave. in Baltimore, told police he was walking north in the 10100 block of Reisterstown Road about 3:30 a.m. on his way to his girlfriend's house when a car occupied by two men stopped. Kent told police the men got out of the car and knocked him to the ground. While on the ground, police said, the men rifled Kent's pockets, taking about $100. The two men got back in the car and drove off.

Anne Arundel

ROBBERY/ARREST: Annapolis -- Police said a 23-year-old resident of Copeland Street was arrested by the FBI earlier this week in connection with the robbery of the Second National Federal Savings Bank in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road. Police said the man called Annapolis police Tuesday and said he wanted to give himself up. Police said George Lionel Gray, of the 1900 block of Copeland St., was charged with the Jan. 8 bank robbery. Police said a man entered the bank and gave a teller a note demanding money. After being given an undisclosed sum of cash, the man fled.

RAPE: Glen Burnie -- Police were seeking a man in connection with the rape Tuesday night of a 13-year-old girl, who told police she was raped by a man inside a unit in an apartment complex and gave the officers a detailed description. Following the rape, the victim was taken to North Arundel Hospital for treatment, then released.

Carroll County

ROBBERY: Finksburg -- Police are seeking two men who robbed Shepard's 140 Exxon station on Md. 140 late last night of an undisclosed sum of money. Police said two men entered the station's office about 11 p.m. and while one of them stood by the door, the other jumped over the counter and into the cashier's booth. Police said the one man removed money from the cash register and fled with his companion. Police said no weapon was displayed during the robbery and that the pair escaped, driving east on Md. 140 in a large maroon car.
