Fulton boy, 3, recovers from near-drowning

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

A 3-year-old Fulton boy has recovered after nearly drowning when he fell into a swimming pool in the back yard of his home, authorities say.

Joshua Richmond, of the 8400 block of Murphy Road, was treated at Greater Laurel-Beltsville Hospital yesterday for possible hypothermia and other side effects before he was released, officials say.

The boy's mother was working around the house when she looked outside and saw him floating in the pool about 6 p.m., said fire Battalion Chief Donald Howell of Howard County. She dived into the pool and pulled out the boy. He was not breathing at first, but was revived moments later.
