CHURCH GIVES AWARD

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Union Bridge Church of the Brethren announces its seventh annualsearch for Joanne Grossnickle Scholarship recipients.

The scholarships are to be given in July to students in the Frederick/Carroll areas who attend Linganore, Walkersville or Francis Scott Key high schools, or to those who have some relation to the church, which Grossnickle attended.

Scholarship candidates must have successfully completed one year of training beyond high school before being considered for a scholarship for additional study or training.

Complete information on eligibility and instructions for applying may be obtained by writing to The Joanne Nancy Grossnickle Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 518, Union Bridge, Md. 21791, or by calling the church at 775-2717 during weekly business hours.

New application forms have been prepared for 1991, so applicants should contact the church for updated information.

Since 1984, the church has awarded 21 Joanne Grossnickle scholarships. The fund has grown to more than $25,000 and is wisely invested so that multiple scholarships can be awarded.

Persons wishing to become part of the scholarship fund to help young students achieve advanced training are asked to consider direct contributions, to specify the fund in their wills or to encourage their organizations to make annualpledges.
