Rev. R.H. Ogle 4th

The Rev. Richard H. Ogle 4th, retired pastor of the Perkins Square Baptist Church, died Friday at St. Agnes Hospital after a long illness. He was 48 and lived on Edmondson Avenue.

Services for Mr. Ogle were being held today at the church at 2500 Edmondson Ave.

He retired in December after serving as pastor of the church for 18 years.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Carver Vocational-Technical High School and attended the Center of Truth School of Religion and Howard University.

Before becoming associate pastor at Perkins Square, he had worked in the dietary department at University Hospital and was pastor of the House of Jacob Holiness Church on the Eastern Shore during the 1960s.

A tenor, he also played the piano and organ.

His survivors include his mother, Constance Ogle of Baltimore; a sister, Delores Lincoln of Middle River; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
