BANK ROBBERY: Central District -- Police were continuing to search today for a man who stole an undisclosed sum from the Capital Savings Bank in the 400 block of N. Charles St. The man may have suffered burns when an explosive dye pack went off in his pants pocket. Police said the robber entered the bank around 10:30 a.m. yesterday and removed cash from two drawers behind the tellers' counter. Among the stacks of bills the man picked up were two explosive dye packs. Police said he placed one of the dye packs in a paper bag along with cash and placed the other in his pants pockets. Moments after he fled the building, the pack in the paper bag exploded, covering the man with a reddish dye and causing him to drop the bag. As he continued running, the second pack exploded in his pocket. Police learned from witnesses that a man whose pants were smoking was seen changing into other clothes in the 300 block of Lovegrove Alley, not far from the bank. A search of the area was unsuccessful.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking Douglas Shinberry, of the 1200 block of Wohler Way, on a warrant charging him with the aggravated assault of Anthony Romeo, 28, of the 200 block of S. Clinton St. on April 6. Police said that after Romeo arrived at his wife's home in the 4000 block of Sinclair Lane to see his two sons, he became involved in an argument with the suspect outside the house. Police said the suspect reportedly picked up a shovel and struck Romeo, breaking an arm and inflicting a large cut on Romeo's torso. Police said Shinberry fled and Romeo was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition after emergency surgery. Police said the seriousness of Romeo's injuries prevented him from giving the police a report of the incident until yesterday.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Linda Hanna, of the 500 block of Orchard St., reported she was walking in the 400 block of W. Mulberry St. when she was approached by a man who asked her for the time. Police said that when Hanna looked at her watch, the man grabbed her purse and escaped with cash and property valued at $200.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Laudell Higgins, of the 800 block of N. Bentalou St., reported he was in the 1300 block of Division St. when he was stopped by two men, one with a handgun and the other carrying what appeared to be an Uzi sub-machine gun, who robbed him of cash and property valued at more than $1,500.
BURGLARY: Central District -- Employees of Fuddruckers, a restaurant in the 100 block of Market Place, reported that someone entered the building between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday and removed $2,000 from a safe in the office. Police said there were no signs of forced entry, indicating the burglar may have used a key.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Police said two women were robbed of jewelry valued at more than $1,000 when they were stopped by a man with a semiautomatic handgun in the 1400 block of McCulloh St. Police said April Young, of the 1300 block of McCulloh St., and Cynthia Nelson, of the 3300 block of Woodland Ave., were getting out of a cab near Young's home around 5:30 a.m. yesterday when they were accosted by a man armed with what they described as a 9mm pistol. Police said the gunman robbed Young of a necklace valued at $500 and forced Nelson to give up a gold chain valued at more than $500.
BURGLARY: Central District -- Employees of Mace M. Cohen Inc. in the 200 block of N. Greene St. reported that someone broke into the business through the front door Monday between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. and removed tools valued at nearly $400.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Tonya Sellman, of the 2200 block of Walbrook Ave., reported that she was assaulted near her home by a man with a handgun, who pushed her to the ground and robbed her of the leather coat she was wearing, which was valued at $200.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that a man who implied he was armed robbed Judy Thomas, of the 1500 block of N. Smallwood St., of jewelry valued at nearly $40 near her home.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Wayne Ruud, a resident of the Lanvale Towers apartments in the 1300 block of W. Lanvale St., reported he was robbed of more than $100 by two youths, one with a handgun, as he walked in the 900 block of N. Carey St.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 200 block of N. Amity St. reported that someone broke into her home by forcing a rear door and removed a VCR valued at nearly $200.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that three heater coils and several pieces of copper tubing were removed from a dwelling in the 900 block of Harlem Ave. after someone broke in through the front door. Police said the property was valued at nearly $400.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Maempel Lane reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and removed property valued at nearly $2,000. Police said a suspect was being sought.
BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police reported that a security officer working at a city-owned building in the 2500 block of Wilkens Ave. arrested a man who broke in through a rear window. Police said the man was held overnight at the station lockup pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Walter Hess, of the 4600 block of Park Heights Ave., reported he was in the 3600 block of Clarks Lane when he was accosted by a man who robbed him of more than $100.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Irvin Carraway, of the 3400 block of Woodbine Ave., reported that a man with a knife robbed him of a small sum of money near his home.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Renee McKenney, of the 2600 block of Fairview Ave., reported she was in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. when a man struck her in the face and robbed her of her purse containing cash and property, all of unknown value.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station pending charges that he robbed Tyra Jones, of the 6100 block of St. Regis Road, while she was in the 3200 block of W. Garrison Ave.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Vanroderick McLean, of the 3300 block of W. Northern Parkway, reported he was in the 5500 block of Hamlin Ave. when two men forced him to give up the camcorder he was carrying, a battery and a beeper, all valued at more than $1,000.
THEFT: Southeastern District -- Geraldine Pearson, 32, of the 200 block of N. Ellwood Ave., reported that someone entered her home yesterday between noon and 1 p.m. and removed a TV and a leather jacket, all valued at more than $500.
BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A maintenance worker at a high-rise apartment building in the 1000 block of Orleans St. told police that someone entered an apartment yesterday and removed a $200 gas range from the kitchen.
BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 100 block of S. Madeira St. through a side door and removed 20 VCR tapes of undetermined value.
BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A 27-year-old resident of the 400 block of N. Chester St. reported that someone broke into her home over the weekend by removing a pane of glass from a window and stole an AM-FM radio-cassette and a telephone, valued at $200.
ASSAULT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a 29-year-old man and charged him with assault by pointing a firearm at Walter Nicholas, 41, of the 200 block of S. Broadway. Nicholas told police that after escorting a female friend to her home at 8 N. Glover St. Sunday night, he was ordered out of the house by a man with a rifle. He reported the incident to police, and several officers who went to the house were met at the front door by a man who held a rifle behind him while talking to them. Police said that when the officers tried to arrest the man, he went into the hallway of his house and attempted to get another gun from a room. They said James Neidig, a resident of 8 N. Glover St., was charged with assault by pointing a firearm at Nicholas and that at least five firearms were found in the house.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southeastern District -- Police said two men were arrested inside an apartment in the 2000 block of E. Baltimore St. yesterday while attempting to remove copper tubing from a ceiling. Police said Officer Bernard Herold responded to the scene and arrested two men who had entered the dwelling by removing a section of plywood from the rear door and then opening a window. Charged with burglary and held overnight at the station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner were Derrick Knox, 26, of the first block S. Exeter St., and James Johnson, 26, of the 1200 block of E. Preston St.
THEFT: Southeastern District -- Kristen Sarles, 23, of the 6900 block of Bonnie Ridge Drive in Baltimore County, reported that someone entered her office at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the 700 block of N. Broadway and stole her purse, which contained $20, 200 in checks, credit cards and personal papers.
BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 200 block of N. Chester St. and removed three windows and frames and a door, all valued at nearly $900.
ROBBERY/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a 17-year-old girl and were seeking three others in the assault and robbery of a 15-year-old resident of the 4000 block of Pennington Ave. Police said the victim was attacked in the 2200 block of Gough St. by four females who struck her with their fists and robbed her of a small sum of money. Police said the victim sustained a broken nose and cheek bone and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Later, police arrested one suspect and charged her as a juvenile with assault and robbery.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- David Argo, of the 3700 block of Elmora Ave., reported that when he answered a knock at his door early yesterday, he was attacked by three men who cut him with a box-cutting knife. Police said the attack was related to an incident involving Argo and his girlfriend.
THEFT: Western District -- The manager of Sonny's Place in the 1100 block of W. Baltimore St. told police that a 26-year-old employee removed more than $900 from the cash register late Sunday. Police said a warrant was to have been obtained for the man's arrest.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Police reported that a deliveryman for Pizz-A-Boli's in the 6400 block of Security Blvd. was robbed last night while making a delivery. Police said the victim, Almondo Gouldbourne, 30, was walking toward a house in the 6800 block of Richardson Road to make a food delivery shortly before 11 p.m. when he was accosted by a man with a revolver who demanded his money, jewelry and the food. Gouldbourne told police the gunman forced him down on his knees before robbing him of his money and the pizza, but was unable to remove a bracelet he was wearing. Gouldbourne told police the man became upset and struck him on the head with the gun. Police said the gunman escaped after telling the victim to leave the area.
