ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Western District -- Police arrested two men last night and charged them each with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Police said Officer Darren Blackwell was in the 900 block of Harlem Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. when he noticed a parked car with a window broken. Blackwell asked his dispatcher to check for an owner listing and stolen car report and was told the information was not available. He then saw two men walking toward the car and questioned them. One of the men refused to provide his driver's license and the car's registration, and Blackwell told him he was under arrest. Police said both men hit the officer in the face. The men ran but were chased and arrested by Blackwell and other officers who responded to a call for assistance. Charged were Stephen Raheem, 23, of the 3500 block of W. Garrison Ave., and Steven Washington, 20, of the 700 block of George St. Blackwell was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center for face and mouth injuries.

JAIL ESCAPE TRY: Eastern District -- Two City Jail inmates were ordered held without bail after they allegedly conspired to allow one of them to escape last week. Police said Robert Teal, 20, of West Baltimore, was being held in lieu of $7,000 bail on weapons charges and was to have been released on bail Friday when he was escorted instead to the visitor's section. In the meantime, James Ray, 20, of northwest Baltimore, had nearly convinced a staff member at the jail that he was Teal. Police said photographs of each man somehow found their way on the wrong papers. Moments before Ray was to have been released, a security officer recalled escorting Teal to the visitor's section. Police said escape charges and other offenses were expected to be placed against the two inmates. An investigation is under way to determine how the photos of the inmates were placed on the wrong forms. Ray had been held in lieu of $63,000 bail on four robbery charges.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police over the weekend arrested three juveniles and charged them with robbing a man of his car after he stopped to give them a ride. Moses B. Saxon 3rd, 32, of the 3100 block of Wolcott Road, told police he was driving in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North Saturday night when he stopped to pick up three male hitchhikers. Moments later, according to Saxon, one of the youths pulled out a handgun and demanded his money. Saxon refused to give up his money and jumped out of the car. The youths drove off with Saxon's 1986 Cougar. A short time later, the car was spotted by police on Reisterstown Road near Druid Hill Park. During a brief chase, the stolen car skidded on the wet pavement and came to a stop in some bushes outside a restaurant. During the chase, three police cars were damaged and Officer Ronny Hege was injured. He was treated at Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. Police said the youths, two of them age 15 and one 14, were charged as juveniles. One of the older boys also was charged with multiple traffic offenses. Police said a BB gun was found in the car.

ASSAULT: Eastern District -- Carl Smith, of the 800 block of Abbott Court, reported that a male acquaintance stabbed him in the shoulder and abdomen during an altercation in the 900 block of Webb Court Saturday afternoon. Smith was treated at a hospital.

ROBBERY: Eastern District -- David Burke, of the 1200 block of McCulloh St., reported he was in the 700 block of E. Preston St. early Saturday when two men with handguns robbed him of $35.

BURGLARY: Eastern District -- A resident of the 1400 block of N. Collington Ave. reported that someone forced open the front door of his home and stole property valued at $1,000.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Eastern District -- Police responding to a burglary in progress in the 900 block of E. Chase St. entered a house and arrested a man who was attempting to steal the refrigerator from the kitchen. The suspect was being held pending charges.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 15-year-old female resident the 4400 block of Moravia Road reported she was walking near her home around 8 p.m. yesterday when two men attacked her, struck her several times, knocking her to the ground, and stole her purse containing cash and other property, all valued at more than $100. Arrested a short time later and charged with assault and robbery were Tracey Hobbs, 19, of the 2300 block of Edwing Court, and William Hall, 20, of the 7200 block of Sauers Court.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Rosslyn Brown, of the 2000 block of Northbourne Road, reported she was in the 5800 block of Hillen Road when a male acquaintance stole her purse, containing cash and property valued at nearly $50.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5600 block of Frankford Ave. reported that someone broke into his home through a bedroom door over the weekend and stole property valued at $800.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Anthony Evans, of the 4300 block of Brehms Lane, reported that someone broke into his car parked near his home and stole property valued at more than $1,300.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property valued at more than $500 was stolen from a dwelling in the 5000 block of Conant Way over the weekend after someone forced open the front door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Willie Avery, of the 5200 block of Bowleys Lane, reported that someone entered his home over the weekend and stole property valued at nearly $350. Avery said he suspects a female acquaintance.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into a home in the 1500 block of Homestead St. through a rear basement window and stole a TV and a VCR, together valued at nearly $400.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Myron Pitts, of the 1500 block of Abbotston St., reported that he was near his home last evening when a man with a handgun stopped him and robbed him of $40.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A deliveryman for the Original Philadelphia Style Pizza carryout in the 8200 block of Philadelphia Road reported he was walking up the stairway of an apartment building in the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave. Saturday night to make a delivery when a man with a handgun robbed him of more than $100.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Juanita Smith, of the 1900 block of Wadsworth Way, reported that a male friend pointed a handgun and threatened to shoot her during an argument outside her home late Saturday evening.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Royce Marshall, 32, of the 5500 block of Lothian Road, reported that a man struck her in the face and robber her of a set of keys during an argument at her home early yesterday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 4500 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone broke into his home over the weekend and stole a $500 bicycle from his living room.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at more than $700 was stolen from a dwelling in the 4700 block of Falls Road after someone broke in.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said someone broke into a dwelling in the 2700 block of Mathews St. over the weekend and stole property valued at nearly $1,000.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A deliveryman for Domino's pizza in the 2700 block of Remington Ave. was making a food delivery in the 3500 block of Chestnut Ave. early yesterday afternoon when a man with a knife robbed him of his money and the food, all valued at nearly $30.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- An elderly woman was assaulted by a man who forced his way into her home yesterday and robbed her of costume jewelry valued at $10. Police said the 91-year-old victim answered a knock at her door around 2:30 p.m. and was pushed back inside by the assailant. The intruder tied the victim's hands behind her with a ropelike material before going to the second floor and stealing the jewelry from a bedroom. Police said the victim was shaken by the experience but not injured.

THEFT: Northern District -- Gail Ford, an out-of-town resident, reported that someone broke into her parked car in the 3200 block of Ellerslie Ave. yesterday and stole a TV set and baseball equipment, all valued at nearly $500.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Richard Boone, of the 3300 block of Avondale Road, told police he was in the 5300 block of Hamlin Ave. Saturday when two men, one with a gun, robbed him of $12 worth of property and cash and drove off in a black Buick.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Emory Williams, of the 3800 block of Fairview Ave., reported he was in the 3800 block of Bonner Road Saturday when two men yoked him and robbed him of his wallet and watch, all valued at nearly $90.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Tonya Palmer, of the 1300 block of Silverthorne Road, reported that someone entered her bedroom during a party over the weekend and stole a gold ring valued at more than $200.

Baltimore County

THEFT: White Marsh District -- Police today were seeking a man who stole five suits, all 41 regulars and valued at $1,200, from a display rack at the J.C. Penney department store at White Marsh Mall yesterday. Police said a store security officer followed the man to the parking lot but was unable to catch him before he entered drove off in a car. The car license number was traced to a city resident, who told police his brother had been using the car over the weekend.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Odenton -- Police arrested a 22-year-old Gambrills man in the aggravated assault of his girlfriend during an argument outside her home in the 500 block of Retreat Court about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police said the victim, Colleen Bahr, 24, was struck several times in the face, torso and legs with a tire iron. She was listed in stable condition today at the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore with a compound fracture of the right leg, an eye injury and injuries to her face and arms. Police said Wesley Dean Turner, of the 2100 block of Old Dairy Farm Road, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with intent to maim and assault and battery.

BANK ROBBERY: Brooklyn Park -- Police today continued seeking a man who escaped with an undisclosed amount of money last week after robbing the Vermont Savings Bank at the Southview Shopping Center in the first block of Hammonds Lane. Police said a man entered the bank and immediately walked up to a teller's station and gave her a note demanding money. The teller complied. The robber, who did not display a weapon, was last seen running toward the back of the shopping center. Police described the robber as 6 feet tall, about 25 years old and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue windbreaker, blue jeans, tennis shoes and mirrored sunglasses.
