Polonia steals Morris' humor

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

California outfielder Luis Polonia stole threee bases yesterday to go along with his three singles and three runs scored, as the Angels trounced Minnesota 9-4.

That gives him four for the season, compared to just one for all-time great Rickey Henderson of Oakland, who has just one and is nursing a sore muscle.

"For the first time in my career, I'm ahead of Rickey Henderson," Polonia said.

"He got three hits, two of them on great pitches," said Twins starter and loser Jack Morris. "He's either the luckiest player on the face of the earth or he had a good day. It's one of the two."
