Outdoors exposition

An Outdoor Expo is being sponsored April 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg by area outfitters and clubs. The public will be introduced to such sports as backpacking, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, rock climbing, caving, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, roller blading and more. There will be exhibits, demonstrations and equipment displays, exhibitor and food sales. Call (301) 924-2127.

Railroad trips

The Wilmington and Western Railroad begins its 26th year of operation with two-hour spring trips through the historic Red Clay Valley to Hockessin, Del., on April 20 and 21. Passengers can board the train at Greenbank Station on Route 41, just north of Route 2, at noon and 2:30 p.m. The railroad is owned and operated by Historic Red Clay Valley Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and environment of the region. Airport museum hours

The College Park Airport Museum, off Calvert Road in College Park, has expanded its hours of operation. The new hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The airport is the world's oldest continuously operated one, and its museum offers a wealth of photos and memorabilia on aviation history. Admission is free. Call (301) 864-1530.
