PHILADELPHIA -- Steve Marohl's five goals and three assist paced University of Maryland Baltimore County to a 15-9 victory over East Coast Conference rival Drexel (2-5, 0-1).
With his eight points, Marohl, a junior attackman from South River High School, became the 12th player in UMBC history to reach the 100-point mark.
The Retrievers (6-4, 1-2) controlled the game from the start, building an 8-1 halftime lead. Stuart Walker added three goals for UMBC, and Brian Duncan and Vince Pasko each had two goals and an assist.
Goalie Bob Bailey shut down Drexel, making 17 first-half saves.
