Orioles update
The Orioles scored just one run in two games against the Chicago White Sox and enter the weekend series mired in a 17-inning scoreless streak. The club has just seven hits, and no player has more than one. Right-hander Ben McDonald is on the disabled list with a sore elbow. Johnson makes his first start of the season tonight, and Jeff Robinson will make his Orioles debut Sunday.
Rangers update
The Rangers are coming off an 83-79 season in 1990, but are expected to fall in the standings this year. They released power-hitting Pete Incaviglia in a cost-cutting move last week and lost promising Juan Gonzalez for the early weeks of the season with a knee injury. But they'll send the best of their pitching rotation against the Orioles, beginning with 17-game winner Witt tonight and ending with Ryan on Sunday.
