PETS

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Last year, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County spent $5,500 on cat and dog food and expects to spend more this year. The shelter handled 1,977 cats, 1,430 dogs and 199 other small animals in 1990.

The SPCA does not charge an owner for giving up his or her pet or for the animal's care. This decision was made years ago to guarantee that no animal is turnedaway because of a person's inability to pay.

The SPCA needs contributions to help feed all these animals. Theyreceive no federal, state, county or city funds and rely on fund raisers, membership contributions, fees for services, bequests, trust funds and donations. If you can help, Send contributions to: SPCA of Anne Arundel County, P.O. Box 3471, Annapolis, Md. 21403.

Information: 268-4388.
