ROBBERY TRY: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a 24-year-old East Baltimore man who allegedly attempted to rob a patron of a tavern but was subdued and held by the intended victim and two other men until police arrived. Police said Aaron Townsend, 39, of the 4600 block of York Road, was in Honey's Tavern in the 1700 block of Gough St. early Tuesday when a man approached him and struck up a conversation. Police said the man put his hand in Townsend's right pants pocket and was trying to remove money when Townsend shoved the man away. They said the man attempted to strike Townsend, but was held by Townsend and two other patrons. When police arrived, they arrested Ronald Wayne Robinson, of the 2400 block of E. Biddle St., and charged him with assault and attempted robbery.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police today were searching for three men who robbed a disabled man of his electric wheelchair and other property last night. Police said Thomas Abell, 65, of the 4400 block of Newport Ave., was in the 2400 block of E. Northern Parkway around 9 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by three men who demanded his wallet. Police said that when Abell refused to comply, one of the men removed the wallet from Abell's back pocket and took more than $100. Police said Abell asked the men to let him to keep his medical cards and identification, but one of them said, "Go to hell." Then they took his watch, wedding band and a gold ring. Abell told police that after robbing him of his cash and jewelry, one of the men said, "We haven't taken everything." With that, according to the police report, the men turned Abell's wheelchair over, throwing him to the ground. Police said Abell was left lying there as the thieves fled with his personal property and his motorized wheelchair, valued at $8,000. Moments later, a friend of Abell's came by and took the victim home.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Bernadette Seymour, of the 7300 block of Jim Rowe Court in Hollander Ridge, reported she was standing at her front door Tuesday night and looking for her house keys when a man came up behind her, grabbed her purse and fled. Police said the thief got cash, food stamps and other property, all valued at nearly $350.
RAPE: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a man in his mid-20s or early 30s for the rape of an 11-year-old girl. The girl told police she was walking in the 3200 block of The Alameda yesterday when she was accosted by a man who forced her to accompany him into a wooded area near City College. There, the girl told police, the man raped her and then fled. Police said the girl was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the White Coffee Pot restaurant in the 3900 block of Erdman Ave. reported that someone entered the office through the roof and took more than $2,700 from the safe.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Mamie Cameron, of the 6000 block of Amberwood Road, reported that someone entered the bedroom of her home and removed a leather coat and several pieces of jewelry. Police said the property was valued at more than $800 and that a man known by Cameron is suspected of taking the property.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 3700 block of Loch Raven Blvd. by breaking a pane of glass out of a side door and removed a VCR, TV, a stereo turntable and jewelry, all with a total value of more than $1,000.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- William Adekanmbi, of the 6000 block of Amberwood Road, told police that a woman he knows entered his home and removed several hundred dollars in cash from a piece of luggage. Police said Adekanmbi was advised to seek a warrant for the woman's arrest.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Derek Martin, of the 1400 block of Stonewood Road, reported that while his car was parked in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road, someone broke into it and removed an in--- stereo radio valued at $300.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Asta Luik, of the 1200 block of Woodbourne Ave., reported that someone entered the back yard of her home and removed an aluminum extension ladder valued at $300.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that several blank checks, a stereo amplifier, a VCR and a wallet containing money were removed from a dwelling in the 1200 block of Lakeside Ave. by someone who entered through a rear window.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Rosalie Hayes, of the 1800 block of Maulsby Court in Hollander Ridge, reported she was in the 1800 block of 62nd St. yesterday when a man approached her from behind and stole her purse, which contained $10 and a federal income tax refund check.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of The Alameda reported that someone broke into his home and removed property valued at nearly $850, including a safe, telephone and a VCR.
GUN THEFT: Western District -- Wallace Campbell, an employee of a tavern in the 2500 block of W. Baltimore St., told police he was working Tuesday when a man entered and sat down. Campbell told police that after the man left several minutes later, he noticed that a handgun kept under the bar was missing.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2100 block of W. Saratoga St. reported that someone broke into her home through a locked rear door while she was away and removed her stereo equipment and a CD player.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Lewis Thomas, of the 2000 block of Division St., reported he was in the 1300 block of W. Lexington St. when he was accosted by two men who forced him to give up his camera and cash, all valued at more than $700.
ASSAULT: Western District -- Pearl Pratt, of the 900 block of N. Mount St., reported she was in the 1600 block of Mosher St. when a man she knows pointed what she thought was a handgun at her. Later, police arrested a man in the incident and recovered a BB pistol. They said the man was being held at the station pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1000 block of N. Monroe St. reported that someone broke into her home through a rear door and removed a VCR valued at nearly $200. Police said a 38-year-old man known by the victim was being sought in connection with the break-in.
ASSAULT: Western District -- Kimberly Johnson, of the 1500 block of W. Fayette St., reported she was in the 900 block of N. Mount St. early yesterday when she was attacked by a man who struck her on the head with a brick. Police said Johnson was in fair condition today at Bon Secours Hospital, where she was treated for a cut.
BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Presstman St. reported she was awakened by a noise and got up in time to see a man fleeing from her apartment. The victim told police she looked into her purse and discovered $20 was missing.
THEFT: Western District -- Officials of the city Department of Transportation in the 300 block of E. Centre St. reported that someone removed a Denver boot from a car that was parked in the 600 block of N. Carey St. Police said the boot was valued at more than $300 and that removing the device carries a heavy fine.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Kesha Powell, of the 1500 block of E. Oliver St., told police that while she was visiting friends in the 300 block of N. Stricker St., someone stole her 18-speed bike from the back yard. Police said the bike was valued at $300.
BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,300 was removed from a dwelling in the 2100 block of Edmondson Ave. after someone gained entry by force. Police said the intruder escaped with a TV and a compact disc player.
Baltimore County
ROBBERY: North Point District -- Police today were seeking a man who, after failing to open the cash register, took a cigarette case from an employee of the Wawa convenience store in the 7100 block of North Point Road. Police said that shortly after 2 a.m. today, the man placed a bag of potato chips and a bottle of soft drink on the counter. He walked over to the cash register and told the female clerk he had a gun. Police said the man then tried to open the cash register but failed. They said the man reached into a pocket of the apron the clerk was wearing and took her cigarette case, then turned and ran out the door. Police said that during the incident the man did not display a weapon.
Anne Arundel County
DRUG ARRESTS: Pasadena -- Police arrested two Pasadena residents and charged them with possession with intent to distribute cocaine after receiving information that a man was dealing in drugs outside a bar on Mountain Road. Police said that during a surveillance of the parking lot of Cheers, they saw a man who appeared to be dealing in drugs. Moments later, police arrested Michael Earl Gray, 33, of the 8100 block of Elizabeth Road, and Karen J. Barth, 29, of the first block of Nicholson Drive. Inside the couple's car, police said, they found a quantity of cocaine and a paging device. Police said the car, a 1989 Nissan 240SX, also was seized.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 1200 block of Wilson Road through a door and removed a TV valued at more than $300.
BURGLARY: Pasadena -- Police reported that an antique radio, valued at $100, was removed from a dwelling in the 200 block of Old Magothy Bridge Road after someone broke in through a window.
BURGLARY: Severna Park -- A resident of the 500 block of Heavitree Lane reported that someone broke into his garage and removed several tools and a lawn mower, all valued at more than $1,100.
Carroll County
ARRESTS: Taneytown -- Authorities investigating the destruction of more than 40 driveway mailboxes arrested two Taneytown teen-agers and charged them as juveniles with multiple counts of malicious destruction of property. Police said most of the damaged or destroyed mailboxes were on Baptist Road. They said a resident of Baptist Road reported seeing the occupants of a pickup truck driving by mailboxes and striking them with what appeared to be a baseball bat. Police said Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy Neil Weutrich observed the vehicle for several minutes before pulling it over. Inside the truck, Weutrich found three baseball bats. Later, State Trooper Edward Buell assisted in the investigation that led to the teen-agers being charged with 41 cases of destruction of property. Police said both youths were released in the custody of their parents.
Howard County
ROBBERY: Ellicott City -- Police said a man wearing a hockey mask accosted the female attendant at the St. Johns Amoco service station, in the 9100 block of Baltimore National Pike, as she left the restroom and ordered her to open the station's office door. Inside the office, the man threatened the woman with a semiautomatic handgun and ordered her to give him money from the cash register. Police said the man was given an undisclosed sum and fled on foot.
