Shoot, here's a few safety tips for you

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

You want to know about firearms but are too embarrassed to ask?

The Department of Natural Resources and the Howard County 4-H Program could provide some answers April 16 at a Home Firearms Safety Seminar from 7 to 10 p.m. at Howard County Fairgrounds.

"Many people have been left firearms, or have bought some they don't know how to use properly, and we're prepared to help them," said Phil Wagenbrenner, who will head the program, the second of its kind in Maryland.

There will be no actual shooting, but possibly some "dry" firing, according to Wagenbrenner. Included will be instructions on loading, safe handling and explanations on how guns work. Rifles, shotguns and handguns will be covered, and both men and women are invited.

Pre-registration is required, and there is a $5 registration fee. Call 461-3007, or 531-3378.
