Can you play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with your armpit Make a face that looks exactly like Red Skelton doing Freddie the Freeloader? Sing and dance a rap number based on Hamlet's soliloquy?

"America's Funniest People" is interested in checking out your act. Producers for the popular ABC show (at 8:30 Sundays, Channel 13) are due in the Baltimore area for the next three days, offering open auditions to anyone with "amusing or unusual talents."

With the assistance of WJZ-Channel 13 and local oldies radio station WQSR-FM 105.7, the tryouts are scheduled as follows:

Friday -- From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Harborplace Amphitheater (or inside the Light Street Pavilion if it rains).

Saturday -- From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at White Marsh Mall.

Sunday -- From noon to 5 p.m. at the Columbia Mall.

Potential performers need merely show up and register.

So just who is the show seeking? Segment producer Maggie Auth, who presides over such community-based auditions every other week in cities all over the nation, has a succinct, open-ended answer:

"People who can do whatever they do in about 30 seconds, preferably, or no more than a minute at most. It should be clean, safe and appropriate for family viewing hours, basically just something unusual."

And as an important note, she adds, "Obviously, it should be something that hasn't been on the show already."

Auth says there are no age restrictions on who can audition, and even pet tricks will be considered by the show's "joke patrol."

Spectators are welcome, too. And at all three tryout sessions, WQSR personalities will be doing live broadcasts,
