BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Elmora Ave. reported that someone broke into her home through a back door and removed a VCR, compact disc player and a radio, all valued at $200.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking four men, one with a handgun, who entered an apartment in the 5000 block of Crenshaw Ave. and robbed the occupant of property and cash, all valued at more than $3,700. Police said Kevin Roden, the occupant of the apartment, and a friend, Timothy Brown of Virginia, were in Roden's apartment when four men entered. Police said the four men robbed Roden of a VCR, several pieces of jewelry and $1,300. Police said that before the men fled, one pointed the weapon at Brown and fired a shot into the floor. Police said no one was injured.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a deliveryman for Pizz-A-Boli's in the 1700 block of E. Northern Parkway was robbed last night in the 1300 block of Kitmore Road of his money and his car. Police said the deliveryman was returning to his car after making a food delivery at 9 p.m. when he was accosted by a man with a handgun who demanded money. Police said after the gunman robbed the deliveryman of more than $70, he ordered the victim to give up the keys to his 1986 Dodge Colt. Police said the gunman then got into the car and drove off. Police said the car, with license plate is YCT-655, has not been found.
BURGLARY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a 28-year-old man and charged him with burglary and the assault of a female occupant of the house he had burglarized. Police said a man entered a house in the 2700 block of Mathews St. by breaking a rear window and stole a wallet and a set of keys. Police said the man was still in the house when the occupants arrived home. Unable to leave, the man hid inside a closet for several minutes before he was able to escape. However, when he attempted to flee the house, he was spotted by a female occupant. Police said the burglar, who was armed with a knife, struck the woman with his hands and escaped. Later, police investigating the incident arrested a man in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. and charged him with burglary, assault and possession of a deadly weapon. Police said Michael Davis, of the 5700 block of The Alameda, was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond pending a bail review hearing.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of Roy Kirby & Sons Construction Co. in the 2500 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone broke into the office building and removed three window air conditioners valued at more than $1,000.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into Edgecombe Circle Elementary School in the 2800 block of Virginia Ave. and removed a set of body-building weights valued at more than $700. Police said entry was gained by climbing through a roof-top window.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- Yu Tai, 47, of the 1100 block of Gorsuch Ave., reported she was in the 800 block of Gorsuch Ave. around 4 p.m. Tuesday when she was accosted by a man with a handgun who demanded the bag she was carrying. Police said Tai complied and that the man fled with more than $100.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Loyola Northway reported that someone broke into her apartment and removed a TV valued at $300.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,500 was removed from a dwelling in the 2400 block of W. Garrison Ave. after someone entered through a ground-level window. Police said the intruder escaped with a TV, VCR, stereo equipment, a computer, cash and several pieces of jewelry.
SHOOTING: Western District -- Police reported that Charles Randolph, 22, of the 3500 block of W. Northern Parkway, was listed today in critical condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after he was shot in the neck during an incident with another man in the 2200 block of Etting St. Police said Randolph was sitting on the front steps of a house when he
became involved in an argument with another man. Police said the other man then pulled out a small-caliber handgun and shot Randolph in the neck. The gunman escaped.
ROBBERY TRY/SHOOTING: -- Western District -- Kenneth Barnes, 25, of the 5000 block of Cordelia Ave., reported to police he was in the 2300 block of Ruskin Ave. when he was stopped by a man with a handgun who ordered him not to move. Police said Barnes turned and ran and was shot in the left wrist. Police said the gunman fled without robbing Barnes, who ran to Liberty Medical Center nearby, where he was treated and released.
BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Western District -- Police reported three youths were arrested after breaking into Harlem Park Junior High School in the 1500 block of Harlem Ave. Police said Officer Steven Sturm responded to a burglar alarm at the school shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday and found evidence that someone had entered through a window. Entering the school, Sturm came upon three youths carrying school supplies. Police said Sturm arrested the three and recovered a quantity of pens, pencils and other items. Police said the three were charged as juveniles with burglary and released in the custody of their parents, pending action by juvenile authorities.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Mathis Kennedy, 63, of the 1900 block of N. East Ave., told police he was southbound in the 1100 block of N. Monroe St. around 3 a.m. Tuesday when he stopped for a red light. He told police that while waiting for the light to change, three men with handguns approached his car on both sides and ordered him not to drive off. Kennedy told police the men forced him to give up his money and fled with about $400. Police said Kennedy drove less than a block to the police station, where he reported the robbery.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $400 was removed from a dwelling in the 1200 block of Linworth Ave. after someone gained entry by forcing the front door. Police said the burglar escaped with a portable TV.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Pinewood Ave. told police that someone broke into his garage and removed carpet installing equipment. Police said a power stapler and heat gun, all valued at $200, were stolen.
THEFT: Northern District -- Odean White, of the 800 block of Exeter Hall Ave., reported that someone entered her home between Sunday and Tuesday and removed three $100 bills from her bedroom dresser.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of the Triple C warehouse in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Blvd. reported that someone broke into the building through a hole in a concrete wall and removed 60 cases of assorted brands of cigarettes. Police said the cigarettes were valued at $6,000 and that the break-in occurred between Saturday and yesterday.
THEFT: Northern District -- Michael Sendak, of the 15700 block of Yeoho Road in Baltimore County, reported that someone broke into his office in the 2700 block of N. Charles St. and removed 23 Baltimore Oriole baseball tickets. Police said the tickets were valued at more than $200.
ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police were seeking a young male who injured a teen-age girl during an shoving incident in the 300 block of Whitridge Ave. Police said when the girl, also a resident of the 300 block of Whitridge Ave., was kicked in the back and fell to the ground, she struck her mouth on the steps of a house. Police said the impact caused one of the girl's teeth to fall out and that she also sustained facial injuries. Police said the girl was treated at an area hospital and released.
THEFT: Northern District -- Roger Brown, of the 3000 block of Mathews St., reported that someone entered the front yard of his home yesterday evening and removed two 10-speed bikes. Police said the bikes were valued at nearly $400.
Baltimore County
ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Police reported two men armed with handguns entered the 7-Eleven store in the 1100 block of Ingleside Ave. shortly after 5 a.m. today and forced a clerk working behind the counter to give them the contents of the cash register. Police said the gunmen fled the store with an undisclosed sum of cash.
ROBBERY/ARREST: North Point District -- Police arrested one man and were seeking another in connection with the armed robbery last night of David Enders, an employee of the American Yeast Co. in the 8200 block of Beechwood Road, as he reported to work around 11 p.m. Enders told police he was on the company parking lot when two men, one with a handgun and the other a knife, approached and demanded his money. Police said Enders handed over more than $200 and that during the robbery one of the men struck him. Enders told police the men then drove off in a Ford Bronco. Later, Officer Brian Stoecker was investigating the robbery when he noticed a Ford Bronco matching the description of the get-away vehicle pulling onto nearby Dogwood Road. Police said Stoecker approached the driver, who was later identified by Enders as one of the men who robbed him. Police said Eldridge McBride, 27, of the 8000 block of Dogwood Road, was charged with armed robbery, using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, battery and possession of marijuana. Police said McBride was being held at the station lockup pending a bail hearing today in District Court.
Anne Arundel County
BREAK-IN/ARSON: Pasadena -- Police reported that the Burger King restaurant in the 8500 block of Fort Smallwood Road that was damaged by a fire over the weekend had been broken into by someone who stole an undisclosed sum of cash and then set fire to the building. Police said someone entered the restaurant that was closed at the time through the back door before removing money from a safe. Before leaving the scene, the intruder set a fire that was extinguished by the fire department before it could cause major damage.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- A resident of the 200 block of Scotts Manor Drive reported that someone broke into his home through a window and removed more than $1,000 worth of appliances and cash.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that money and household items, all valued at $7,000, were removed from a dwelling in the 100 block of Patricia Ave. after someone gained entry through a door.
Howard County
ARREST: Ellicott City -- Police investigating a series of drug purchases with phony prescriptions arrested a former secretary for a doctor and charged her with fraud. Police said a 40-year-old Elkridge woman who worked for a doctor several years ago and still had his federal Drug Enforcement Administration identification number apparently used the number when she ordered prescriptions for pain-killers, including Darvocet N-100. Police said pharmacists at drug stores in Ellicott City and Columbia said the woman phoned in prescriptions and used the number as verification. Police said the investigation uncovered nearly 100 illegal prescriptions that were picked up by the woman after ordering them by phone. Police said Patricia Hess Ide, of the 7800 block of Butterfield Drive, was released on her own recognizance and that a trial date was pending.
