John A. Fava Produce executive


A Mass of Christian burial for John A. Fava, president of the G. Fava Fruit Co., will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 200 Ware Ave., Towson.

Mr. Fava, who was 58, died Wednesday at his home in Milburn on the Magothy River after a long illness.

He was associated for more than 40 years with the wholesale produce company started by an uncle, and had been its 'D president for three years.

For many years, the Baltimore native's parents had operated the Savoia Restaurant, located in the downtown shopping area.

He was educated at the Mount Washington Country School and at Loyola High School.

A golfer who was a member of the Turf Valley and Sparrows Point country clubs, he often played in charity tournaments.

He is survived by his wife, Ro Fava; a son, John M. Fava of Bel Air; three daughters, Lisa DiFerdinando of Ellicott City, Linda Critzos of Olney and Cecelia Marie Marchese of Milburn; a brother, Andrew Fava of Stoneleigh; and nine grandchildren.
