Gerneral Sciences Corp., a Laurel-based computer software company, reported that its profits more than doubled in the most recent quarter, even though revenue declined.

The company ascribed the big jump in earnings to the sale of its METPRO weather information processing system to the governments of Mexico and Brazil. The system receives and analyzes raw data from weather satellites.
