Train backed

Most callers to SUNDIAL seem to like the idea of a 300 mph magnetic levitation passenger train operating in the Washington-Baltimore corridor.

On the question of whether federal tax dollars should be spent for the mag-lev train, 78 percent, or 394 callers, said they supported that idea. Another 114 callers, or 22 percent, said they would not support use of federal tax dollars for it. There were 508 responses to the question on using tax dollars.

On the question of whether they'd ride it, 413 callers, or 82 percent, said they would be willing to use it. Ninety-one callers, or 18 percent, said they would not be willing to ride the high-speed train.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as a scientific public opinion poll would be.
