Emanuel A. Di Paola, who owned a Timonium restaurant and had owned a Waverly nightclub, died yesterday of cancer at his home on Hemlock Court in Hunt Valley. He was 66.

A mass of Christian burial for Mr. Di Paola will be offered at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 101 Church Lane, Texas.

Known as Manny, he owned the Turf Inn, a restaurant on York Road in Timonium, for 23 years. For 19 years before that, he owned Sweeney's, a nightclub on York Road in Waverly that he expanded, adding three bars and an entrance off 32nd Street.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Forest Park High School.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Di Paola; three sons, Dino, Anthony and Emmanuel A. Di Paola Jr., all of Cockeysville; two brothers, Raymond Di Paola of Parkton and Joseph Di Paola of Timonium; three sisters, Angela and Margaret Di Paola, both of Timonium; Rose Bucklew of Baynesville; and two granddaughters.

The family suggested contributions to the American Cancer Society.
