Gens. Colin Powell and H. Norman Schwarzkopf deserve to be appointed five-star generals, according to almost two-thirds of respondents to The Evening Sun's telephone survey.

Of 806 callers to SUNDIAL this past weekend, 522, or 64 percent, said the generals deserve the honor, and 284, or 35 percent, said Powell and Schwarzkopf do not deserve a fifth star.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
