Coach's outlook: "I expect to see a lot more goals this year. Our offense is young, butexperienced. We should be tougher on defense as well, but we're untested at the goalie spot. Our offense is looking pretty good. We have three guys at attack who were sophomores last year (leading scorer Coccia, Kopp and MacKenzie, who will miss at three weeks with torn kneeligaments) so we should be scoring more often. I'm looking forward to having them back for the next couple of years. Our main drawback isour depth. If we play well as a unit and avoid a lot of injuries, we'll be competitive. I can see us going 8-4, .500 at worse."
Anne Arundel County Sun's outlook: If the Cougars can solve their dilemmas inside of the crease, who knows what could be in store for them. However, with the presence of teams like Annapolis, Broadneck, North County, Arundel and Severna Park in the league, Chesapeake may have to wait another year or two before earning a coveted playoff berth. While they shouldn't wind up in the same category as perennial doormat Glen Burnie, they'll more than likely join the company of up-and-comers such as Old Mill and Meade.
