Coach's outlook: "Right now we're tryingto rebuild and we're still working to put our offense and defense together. We're not real worried about the wins and losses at this point, as long as we see improvement. Our offense should get better as the season goes on, but for now, we just want them to learn the new system and prepare for next season. We just want to get the bugs out this year and that should make things easier for us down the road. If wecan stay competitive and play teams close from top to bottom, I'll be more than satisfied."
Anne Arundel County Sun's outlook: Spalding's first-year coach is not expecting too much from the Cavaliers this season -- and rightly so. The Cavaliers boast only two seniors on their Maryland Scholastic Association B Conference squad and both of them carry long sticks. Many of the Cavaliers are too young to remember the 1-12 season their team endured last season and this could actually work in their favor. Ignorance is bliss. Look for Spalding to double its win total of last year and then watch as it flourishes in the future.
