Home warranty council offers expert advice
Building a home? Issues such as extended home warranties, financing programs and signs of quality construction will be discussed at a seminar Wednesday sponsored by the Home Owners Warranty Council of Maryland. A panel of experts in new home construction, sales and financing will be featured. The seminar will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the offices of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, 1502 Woodlawn Drive, Baltimore.

Talk on development for religious community
The Real Estate Center, in cooperation with Johns Hopkins University, will host a seminar to discuss the religious community's role in building housing for low- and moderate-income residents.
The seminar is designed to teach members of the religious community about development issues, and to foster community, private and public partnerships that will allow local residents to own their own homes.
The seminar will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hopkins Downtown Center, Charles and Saratoga streets in Baltimore. For more information, call 547-1591.
Speakers include: Robert Hearn of the Department of Housing and Community Development; Clarence Snuggs of Maryland National Bank; Tim Elliott of First National Bank; and Dan Henson Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse. Race planned to raise money for housing
A footrace race to raise funds for affordable housing will be held in Baltimore Sunday, April 21. The Run for Affordable Housing is expected to attract more than 5,000 entrants.
Money raised from entry fees will go to the Real Estate Center, a local non-profit institution that promotes affordable housing. Call for information.
The race is hosted by Maryland National Bank, WBAL-TV Channel 11, the Johns Hopkins University Spring Fair and the HTC Real Estate Center. Co-sponsors include Signet Bank, First National Bank, NCNB, Giant Foods, the Housing Assistance Corp., Savannah Development Corp., the Baltimore Urban League and Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse.
