Coach's outlook: "Ideally, we would like to improve on last year's record, but right now we're hard-pressed to that. Our balance will be our strength this year. In the past, we've had a couple strong players that we relied on and that really hurt us on days when they were off. We'd hope to contend with teams we beat last year and surprise some of those who beat us. We have a lot of talented players, but most of them are only sophomores. This is really a growing year for us, but look out next year and the year after."

Anne Arundel CountySun's outlook: A wealth of underclassmen provides a bright future for the Cavaliers but inevitably will cast a dark shadow over this season. Look for Spalding to struggle early and come on strong late. Unfortunately, it will be too late for the Cavs to manufacture a winning season.
