VS. PHILADELPHIA WINGS
* WHEN: Tomorrow, 8 p.m.
* WHERE: Baltimore Arena.
* OUTLOOK: For the Thunder, this will be a tuneup for the Major Indoor Lacrosse League championship game against the Detroit Turbos April 6. The Thunder (6-3) clinched the American Division title with its win over the Wings Sunday.
The championship game site will be determined by regular-season home attendance. Baltimore leads Detroit in that respect, 34,413 to 30,975, each with one game remaining. The Turbos will entertain the New England Blazers tomorrow.
Jeff Cogen, director of marketing for Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, says nothing special is being done to attract fans tomorrow night beyond "our normal aggressive marketing campaign." Edie Brown, an official of the Baltimore Arena -- which is eager to stage the championship game -- says extra things are being done here, including appearances by Thunder players on local radio stations. The players arrive with a box of chicken wings and claim they are going to "eat up the Wings," meaning the team from Philly.
