A 27-year-old Northeast Baltimore man was hospitalized in critical condition last night after he was shot at least once in the back of the head by an unknown assailant in the Northwest part of the city, Baltimore police said.
Roger Aleong of the 5900 block of Fenwick Avenue was found about 5 p.m. lying on the ground in the 3000 block of Thorndale Avenue. Police said that witnesses heard 10 to 12 shots fired at the victim, but that probably only one bullet hit him.
Mr. Aleong was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where his injury was described as critical.
Police said they had no suspects and did not know the motive for the shooting.
