The Blue Angels Marching Band and American Legion Post 141 in Annapolis are sponsoring a benefit fashion show and dinner dance.
Proceeds from the event will go to the band as well as a scholarship fund established in the name of the the late Annapolis delegate and civil rights advocate Aris T. Allen.
The event will begin 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the American Legion Post Hall on Forest Drive in Annapolis. A fashion show, light buffet and a dance will round out the nights agenda. Cost is $12 per person.
Youths in the Blue Angels Marching Band are residents of public housing in Annapolis.
"The children decided to do this; they have been encouraged by many people," said the benefit's organizer, Geraldine Grahm of Annapolis. "Especially Aris T. Allen. He was a financial supporter and very inspirational."
