GIRLS -- "We lost 12 seniors fromlast year. The kids are working very hard, especially the seniors who have just picked up a racket for the first time."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: BOYS -- New coach Rob Pennington is looking to improve upon last year's 2-14 team with a very young squad. He will rely on the team's lone returning senior, Thacker, who will play the No.1 singles spot and provide much-needed leadership. Look for the boysto improve as the year goes on as Pennington tries to build a solid base for the years to come. GIRLS -- Having lost 12 seniors from lastyear's 14-2 team, coach Donna Baker is appropriately calling this a rebuilding year. Maring will play at the No. 1 singles spot while Brandon and (Jenny) Baker will likely play No. 1 doubles. Baker is goingback to the basics this year in hopes of finishing the season around.500.
