March 18: We have before us a very beautiful engraved portrait of President Harrison, on a sheet suitable for framing. The likeness is striking and the execution of the engraving such as to reflect much credit upon the artist. Copies are for sale at Mr. Joseph Robinson's book store in Baltimore Street.

March 20: This is the first day of spring. Baltimore stores have made and are still making preparations for the largest shopping trade they have ever known. It is but natural in a growing city every season should show an increase in business.

March 23: The Augusta Savings Company was incorporated yesterday by Thomas R. Ovelton, George B. Hazelton, Julius C. Johnson, John W. Young and David T. Harrod. The capital stock is $5,000.

March 17: Maryland's only Negro unit of the National Guard, now designated as a service company in the Three Hundred and Seventy-second Infantry, will leave Baltimore this morning for Fort Dix, where it will be stationed for its year of active training.
