THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Two men were killed today in an explosion at Aberdeen Proving Ground while they were loading propellant into a 105mm artillery round, a spokesman said.

The explosion took place about 11 a.m. at one of the Harford County base's ammunition-assembly plants, according to George Mercer, APG spokesman. Other workers were evacuated after the explosion.

The names of the dead were being withheld, pending notification of their families.
