Dochia Joyce David Designed and made hats

Services for Dochia Joyce David, who was a retired electronic technician at the Martin Marietta Corp. and operated flower-arranging and hat-making businesses at her home, will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Waters African Methodist Episcopal Church, 417 Aisquith St.

Mrs. David, who was 75 and lived on Kenwood Avenue, died Monday of cancer at Church Hospital.

She worked at Martin Marietta from 1955 until her retirement in 1962 and earlier did domestic work and worked in a Stieff Co. store.

She designed and made hats at home for many years and made floral arrangements to order.

She was born Dochia Joyce in Pine Hall, N.C., and came to Baltimore in 1939.

Her husband, Alfred David, a retired security guard, died in 1984.

She is survived by two daughters, Loretta E. Eades and Lucy O. Jones, both of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
